About Me

I am Gary, a UK qualified and experienced primary teacher offering private tutoring for children aged 5–11. I provide calm, structured and supportive sessions tailored to each child’s needs, helping them to build skills, confidence and independence. I can support learning in phonics, early reading, English, primary maths and science. My aim is always to make learning clear, engaging and achievable, so that children feel positive about their progress. Humor and getting to know children's interests as well as their strenghts and needs are a key part of my approach.

My Experience

I have over 20 years’ experience teaching children aged 5–11 in the UK and internationally, as well as online. I hold a Bachelor of Education in Primary Education, have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), and an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service. I have taught all of the Primary Subjects with a focus on phonics, early reading, English, primary maths and science. I also have extensive experience supporting EAL learners and adapting for SEND learners.

Bachelor of Education 1st class Hons obtained in the UK
QTS (Qualified teacher status)
TESOL (Teaching of English as a Second Langauage)
Enhanced DBS on the update service

My Availability

For afternoon/early evening slots I am avaliable to start from 2pm and teach through to 7pm to allow for travel
