Hello parents and guardians!
I'm Zoe, 29, and I'm moving back to my home country for the summer after working in outdoor education in Squamish, Canada for the last two years. I have ten years of experience working with kids in traditional and alternative setting. I'm looking for work over the summer and hoping to meet some wonderful families!
Here's a bit about me and the work I do:
I work with young people in a way that fosters their inquisition into themselves and the world around them: with warmth, patience, and a child-centered approach. I'm trauma informed and work at the pace of the child, building a sustainable relationship based on trust and respect.
I love taking young people into the outdoors where they can learn and play sensorily and have their cortisol lowered and their moods boosted, and where they can learn to love nature and be loved back by it! That being said, each child is unique, and an essential part of my job is to learn the boundaries of each and work within them where needed.
I've travelled a fair chunk of the world and worked with kids all over: India, Canada, Bulgaria, Italy, and elsewhere. I've learnt so much from each place and today exercise those experiences to create a safe and nurturing space for children from all over the world.
In my personal time, I'm a big reader, walker, painter, music-player, and love to wind down and spend time with my loved ones. I'm open to learning anything and fostering the interests and minds of any child I get the pleasure of working with.
Although I've ticked 'Nanny', I'm also available as a tutor, babysitter, and work in nurseries.
My Experience
I have over ten years of experience in:
- Working with children aged 4-18
- Tutoring in English
- Teaching (large classrooms as well as small)
- SEND work (associated largely with children on the ASD and/or ADHD spectrum)
- Leaders in training (teenager programs)
- Recreational supervision
- Outdoor and forested education
- Nannying and babysitting
My Qualifications
Although not formally trained, I have had a vice principal ask where I've trained as a childcare specialist (which was very flattering!). I've worked in primary, secondary and alternative schools, for education charities, and for extra-curricular recreational programs for a decade where I've learnt a lot and hope to continue learning about working with young people.
My Availability
Very flexible and open between mid-May and late August (potentially longer). Day time only (includes before school and bedtime routine).
My Fees
- Babysitting from £20.00 per hour
- Nannying from £20.00 per hour (gross)
My fees are based on averages in the area, my experience, and a reasonable income.
