Hello,
I have worked in schools for over 10 years now, and have developed a passion for working in Early years. I have been a Reception teacher for the past 6 years and pride myself in creating a safe and stimulating environment through tailored activities, based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. I believe the early stages of a child’s learning journey are crucial in shaping their ability to absorb information and develop the essential skills needed for future success.
I have become highly skilled in improving children’s phonics ability, with particular expertise in delivering the Read Write Inc. (RWI) programme. This has enabled pupils to make strong progress in sound recognition and word blending. In addition to supporting your child in reading with fluency, I can also help to develop their handwriting skills, giving them the confidence they need to improve their writing.
I provide targeted early maths support designed to build confidence and develop effective problem-solving skills. These interventions can help your child build confidence and develop strategies they can apply across their learning. I have experience using the White Rose Maths programme, which uses practical activities to engage children and supports them in applying strategies to their theoretical understanding. I also provide tailored resources to support practice and consolidation.
Having worked in a diverse school, I value an inclusive approach and am experienced in supporting children with EAL. I can support children in developing their English vocabulary through engaging, hands-on activities that encourage visual learning and communication skills. I am also experienced in supporting children on the SEND register.
