About Me
Hello! I'm Kathryn, I’m a Primary PGCE student at Newcastle University (finishing in July) with a BA (Hons) in Education, and I’m looking to offer fun and engaging childcare until October 2026 before I move to Canada for the year. I bring a patient and creative approach, and I genuinely love working with children and building relationships with them. I also love creating enjoyable and active days, and can provide supportive academic tutoring tailored to each child if required. Most importantly, I aim to create a safe and encouraging environment where children feel understood and able to be themselves.
My Experience
I have extensive experience working with primary-aged children across a range of settings. I am currently completing my Primary PGCE and have undertaken multiple school placements across KS1 and KS2. I also have experience working as a group leader on a summer camp in 2025 and as a nanny during my gap year, where I did the school runs, supported children with their homework, as well as other general daily routines. Through my undergrad degree in Education, I have developed a strong understanding of child development and inclusive practice, including supporting children with additional needs.
My Qualifications
I am currently completing my Primary PGCE at Newcastle University (finishing July 2026), following a BA (Hons) in Education, also from Newcastle University. My degree mainly focused on child development, learning theory, and inclusive practice, which has given me a strong understanding of how children grow socially, emotionally and academically.
Through my PGCE, I have undertaken placements across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, where I have consistently planned and delivered lessons, supporting children with a range of abilities and adapting learning to suit individual needs.

Enhanced DBS Certificate
NSPCC Certificate (Safegaurding)
Politics, Drama and Psychology A-levels
Full UK Driving Licence
My Availability
I am available for nannying from mid-July until mid-October. I am flexible with hours and open to full-time or part-time arrangements, including regular weekly schedules or more temporary summer support. I am also happy to provide additional academic support alongside childcare.
