My Summary
About Me
I’m an energetic, positive and reliable childcare professional with over 15 years’ experience teaching and caring for children from the age of 3 upwards. I genuinely love being around children and creating an environment where they feel safe, happy, heard and encouraged to be themselves.
I’m naturally playful, creative and innovative, and I believe children learn best when they’re having fun. Whether we’re getting stuck into a creative activity, heading outdoors, playing games, reading, cooking or discovering something completely new, I love finding ways to make everyday moments engaging and meaningful.
I’m sensitive to individual needs and understand that every child is different. I’m calm, patient and attentive to behaviour and emotions, with experience managing different personalities, learning styles and additional needs. I’m happy to follow parents’ routines, preferences and instructions, while bringing my own initiative and ideas when appropriate.
I also offer tutoring and educational support alongside childcare. With my teaching background, I’m happy to help across school subjects, including English, languages, maths and science, as well as homework and exam preparation. I particularly enjoy making learning feel natural and enjoyable — encouraging children to ask questions, explore ideas and develop a genuine curiosity about the world around them.
I’m naturally tidy and organised and take pride in maintaining a clean, calm and well-structured environment. I have COSHH and Health & Safety training, as well as a First Aid certificate, and understand the importance of creating a safe environment while still allowing children the freedom to explore and have fun.
I also have a background in catering and hospitality, including cooking and food preparation, so I’m very comfortable helping with family meals and creating fun, practical experiences around food.
Above all, I love helping children grow in confidence, independence and curiosity. I bring warmth, energy, responsibility and a good sense of humour — and I believe childcare should be both safe and joyful.
My Experience
I have over 15 years’ experience working with children and young people from the age of 3 upwards, both in the UK and internationally. My background brings together childcare, teaching, tutoring, pastoral support, fitness, movement and practical family experience.
Alongside my professional teaching career, I have extensive hands-on childcare experience, including caring for my own siblings, babysitting and regularly looking after friends’ children. I am comfortable managing the everyday rhythm of family life, including preparing meals, dinner time, bath and bedtime routines, getting children ready for the day, laundry, tidying, cleaning and general domestic tasks. I also have experience with potty training and understand the patience, consistency and encouragement this stage requires.
I am confident preparing food while being mindful of food allergies, intolerances and individual sensitivities, and I enjoy involving children in age-appropriate cooking and food preparation where appropriate.
My 15+ years of teaching and tutoring experience means I can offer much more than childcare. I have worked with children from early years through to teenagers, supporting English, languages, maths, science, homework, examinations and general learning. I have particular experience supporting children with SEN and different learning styles, adapting activities and communication to the individual child.
I am also a Pilates and Fitness Instructor and a lifelong yogini, and I love bringing movement, play and mindfulness into children’s lives. I believe children benefit from learning to connect with their bodies, recognise their emotions, develop simple self-regulation skills and discover enjoyable ways to stay active. This might be through yoga, playful movement, stretching, outdoor activities, dance or simply getting outside and exploring.
Creativity is another big part of my approach. I love using art, music, drama, stories, games, cooking, nature and imaginative play to encourage curiosity, confidence, personal growth and self-expression.
Having worked with children from many different cultures and backgrounds, I am comfortable adapting to different family environments, routines and parenting styles. I am happy to follow parents’ instructions and established routines while also bringing energy, initiative and creative ideas when welcomed.
Ultimately, I bring a combination of professional education experience and genuine, practical childcare experience. I love creating a warm, structured and playful environment where children feel safe to explore, learn, move, express themselves and grow in confidence.
My Qualifications
I hold a BA Joint Honours degree in Italian and Spanish from the University of Leeds (2:1), including a Distinction in Spoken Spanish, and a TEFL International TESOL teaching qualification. I am a British and Italian citizen and speak fluent Italian and Spanish, with a lifelong passion for languages and different cultures.
I have over 15 years’ professional experience in English and language teaching, tutoring and working with children and young people aged 3+, including GCSE students and children with SEN. My experience includes Cambridge, Trinity and TOEFL examination preparation, functional English, homework support and helping children build confidence across a range of subjects.
I hold a Full Enhanced DBS Check, First Aid and COSHH and Health & Safety training, alongside extensive practical childcare experience including babysitting, potty training, meal preparation, bedtime routines and supporting children with allergies and food sensitivities.
I am currently studying towards qualifications as a Fitness Instructor and Reformer Pilates Instructor. I also have a strong yoga practice and a particular interest in movement, mindfulness and wellbeing. I love encouraging children to enjoy being active, connect with their bodies and develop positive self-regulation skills.
I also have a professional catering and hospitality background, giving me practical experience in cooking, food preparation, maintaining clean and organised spaces and supporting everyday household routines
