Hillfarm
Childminder in Chiltern (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
I’m a childminder based in Chalfont St Peter offering a stimulating, nurturing and safe environment, where babies and children feel safe, seen, and excited to learn.
I have always been passionate about early years and - after having 2 little ones of my own - decided to make my passion a career. I understand how important flexible childcare is to working families, having tried to juggle it myself for years, so I am open to discussing ad-hoc childcare (including meeting different shift workers’ needs etc).
In my setting, I spend time teaching tolerance, respect and kindness: foundations of healthy emotional connections later in life. It is fundamental that children are nurtured, they feel respected and they are given the confidence to try things even if they fail. My mantra is ‘try and try again’ and I use both yoga and meditation to encourage children to be connected to their bodies and emotions.
I am outdoors with the children every day, whether that is for an adventure at Black Park or Forest School, the farm or a nature trail. I have my own little vegetable patch and adore gardening, so your little ones will be green-thumbs before you know it!
Our outings also include trips to the local greengrocer to purchase fresh produce for cookery as a group. All meals are home-cooked and upf-free; the children are involved in food preparation as much as possible and we bake our snacks from scratch (all sugar free, as per nutrition guidelines).
We love reading at hill farm! Everyday will be a new literary adventure and we use stories to inform play, create songs and develop early literacy. We also go to the library every week for bounce and rhyme sessions.
All activities are informed and guided by the EYFS and you will receive regular updates on your child’s progress throughout the day. You will also receive formal reports at key points and be invited for parents’ evening.
I am also available for wraparound care, 11+ tutoring, GCSE tutoring and homeschooling support for children of school age.
Families choose me for my love of reading, Forest School sessions, my home-cooked meals and my warm and open communication. Message me to arrange a visit - I’d love to show you around.
