About Me
I am 47 years old and have cared for and educated children and young people for over 25 years. I also have two daughters, aged 9 and 15. I am compassionate, dedicated, reliable and creative and have good organisation skills, which have helped me achieve my goals in both my personal and professional life. I have a number of interests and hobbies including horseriding, dancing and running and try to keep active and maintain a healthy lifestyle as much as possible. In 2023 I completed the Great North Run, half marathon which I thoroughly enjoyed and gave me a great sense of pride. I am always keen to take on new challenges, travel and learn about other cultures and traditions and in later life I have chosen to learn French. I am an animal lover and feel they can be very calming, for both children and adults. I have volunteered my time to support community events including scout galas and school fairs and have also participated in and organised events to raise money for several charities.
My Experience
I have worked in Early Years Centres, Childrens centres, private day nurseries, schools and community settings for over 25 years. During this time I have been responsible for, nutured and educated children and young people from the ages of 0-15. I have been in the priviledged position of meeting and suppoorting individuals with a variety of developmental and behavioural needs, some of which being of a more complex nature. I have completed risk assessments , organised trips and planned activities for those in my care, making sure activities for those in my care are accessible and exciting, making adaptations where necessary. I have also taken on the role of a language development worker which has allowed me to deliver a 6 week communication program both in the home and in the community for those children who have a language delay and need additional support. During my professional life I've worked alongside and collaborated with a variety of services and been able to support parents and carers through the modelling of strategies and guidance.
My Qualifications
GCSE(c) Maths, English, Science
HMD(merit) in Early childhood studies
BA(hons) In education studies with Early years specialism.
My Availability
Due to working term time hours I have availability in school holidays. I am also available some evenings and occasional weekends.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £14.00 per hour
My fees are standard but may change subject to age of child or time of working.
