About Me

Hello! I'm Miranda, a mum of two adult daughters who recently relocated from Australia to North London.

I offer part-time nanny and family support services and particularly enjoy working with school-aged children. I love getting to know children as individuals, discovering what makes them tick, and helping them develop confidence, independence and resilience.

I am equally happy helping with before-school routines, school readiness, school pick-ups, homework support, after-school routines, organisation and family life. From breakfast, packed lunches and getting everyone out the door on time, to homework, activities and winding down at the end of the day, I enjoy helping family life run a little more smoothly.

Families describe me as warm, approachable and easy to talk to. I build strong relationships with both children and adults, and I believe children thrive when there is a balance of fun, kindness, consistency and clear expectations. I'm not afraid to be silly when the moment calls for it, but I'm also calm, reliable and able to provide structure when needed.

I am a strong advocate for balancing screen time with real-world experiences and connection. I have a longstanding love affair with card games, board games and puzzles, and I'm always delighted when a child discovers they enjoy them too. In my opinion, some of the best conversations, laughter and learning happen around a table with a game and a warm drink.

My aim is to create a safe, happy and supportive environment where children feel valued, understood and free to be themselves.

My Experience

I hold a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours) degree and have over seven years' experience working as a paediatric Speech Pathologist in private practice, supporting children from preschool age through to adolescence.

My professional background includes supporting children with speech, language, literacy, social communication and learning difficulties, as well as neurodivergent children with profiles such as ADHD and autism. I have worked closely with parents, schools and multidisciplinary teams and understand the importance of building strong, supportive relationships around a child to help them thrive.

While I am no longer practising as a Speech Pathologist, this experience has given me a strong understanding of child development, learning, communication, behaviour and family support.

In addition to my professional experience, I am the mother of two adult daughters and have many years of practical experience supporting children and young people through different stages of development.

I hold a Basic DBS certificate and First Aid training. I am available for part-time nannying, before and after-school care, educational support, homework assistance and support for families of children with additional needs.
