My Experience

With extensive experience supporting learners across Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, and GCSE, I have successfully delivered high-quality tuition in Maths and English to a diverse range of students. My background includes working in mainstream education, specialist settings, home education, and alternative provision, enabling me to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs.

I provide personalised one-to-one tuition, small group teaching, and bespoke programmes for home-educated learners, helping students build confidence, close learning gaps, and achieve their academic goals. I have particular expertise in supporting neurodiverse learners, including those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other additional learning needs, using strengths-based, flexible approaches that promote engagement and success.

My experience also includes working with learners who may have struggled in traditional educational environments, offering alternative provision that focuses on rebuilding confidence, developing essential skills, and fostering a positive relationship with learning. By combining academic coaching with tailored teaching strategies, I help learners make meaningful progress while developing the independence, resilience, and self-belief needed for long-term success.

Qualifications and Professional Training

I hold a strong educational and teaching background, supported by GCSEs, A Levels, and specialist teaching and learning qualifications. My professional qualifications include the City & Guilds 7307 Stage 1 and Stage 2 Teaching Certificates, a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults), and a Higher Education Certification in Education in Further Education.

In addition to my teaching qualifications, I have undertaken extensive specialist training in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including qualifications and professional development relating to ADHD, ADD, autism, and neurodiversity. This enables me to provide highly personalised support for learners with a wide range of learning profiles and educational needs.

I am experienced in delivering private tuition for learners from Key Stage 2 through to GCSE in Maths and English, working with students on a one-to-one basis, in small groups, and within home education settings. I also have significant experience supporting learners accessing alternative provision, helping young people who may find mainstream educational environments challenging to engage positively with learning and achieve their potential.

To ensure the highest standards of professionalism and student welfare, I maintain up-to-date training in Safeguarding, Prevent Duty, Data Protection (GDPR), and child protection practices. My qualifications and ongoing professional development allow me to create safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments where every learner can build confidence, develop independence, and make meaningful academic progress.
