Ella
Babysitter in Bristol
My Summary
About Me
Hello, my name is Ella. I am a warm, reliable and responsible nanny based in Bristol. I am completing my final year of an MA in History at the University of Glasgow and will be graduating in 2026, coming back to Bristol. I have built strong experience in childcare, care work, volunteering, hospitality and community-based roles, all of which have strengthened my communication organisation and ability to build trusting relationships with people of different ages. I would describe myself as kind, sociable and creative. I enjoy nature walks, wild swimming, games, cooking, pottery and outdoor activities. I understand how important it is for parents to feel that their children are safe, listened to and cared for by someone trustworthy. I am confident supporting routines and creating a safe, caring environment, with fulltime nannying, after-school care, daytime childcare, babysitting, school holiday help, light household tasks and fun, creative activities etc.
My Experience
I have previous experience working as a childminder for a family in Bristol, where I looked after two boys aged 4 and 6 three times a week for a year. My responsibilities included preparing meals, supervising play, helping with homework, supporting bath-time routines, walking the family dog and helping with household tasks such as cleaning and laundry. I really enjoyed becoming a familiar and trusted part of the children’s routine, while offering practical support to the parents.I also volunteer with Forest School Camps, an educational charity that takes children aged 6–17 camping in nature. As a volunteer staff member, I help care for children from a wide range of backgrounds, supporting their safety, wellbeing, social development and confidence outdoors. This has given me valuable experience in supervising groups, encouraging independence, managing risk, and creating fun, active and inclusive environments. In addition to childcare, I have worked as a part-time carer with Home Instead Bristol North, where I provided companionship and practical support. I completed training in safeguarding, basic life support, first aid principles, manual handling, medication awareness, dementia awareness, infection prevention and person-centred care. This experience has made me especially attentive, calm and compassionate when supporting others.
My Qualifications
Through my volunteering with Forest School Camps, where I work with children aged 6–17 in outdoor educational settings, I have an enhanced DBS check connected to my role with the charity. I also have previous in-house care training from Home Instead Bristol North, including safeguarding, basic life support, first aid principles, infection prevention and person-centred care.
