About Me
I provide a calm, nurturing and child centred service that focuses on supporting children’s emotional wellbeing, development and daily routines. My experience includes pastoral and residential childcare, where I cared for children from waking up to going to bed, supported therapeutic sessions and helped young people build confidence, resilience and healthy habits. I take time to build trusting relationships and create a safe, warm environment where children feel understood and valued.
Day to day, I support age appropriate play, learning and exploration, reinforce positive routines and communicate clearly with parents to ensure consistency and reassurance. I am confident with babies, toddlers and older children, and I bring patience, common sense and a flexible team focused attitude to every role. My approach is grounded in empathy, structure and genuine enthusiasm for helping children to thrive.
My Experience
For the past 2 years, I have been working as a Residential Clinical Therapy and Support Assistant for children with special needs between the ages of 7-19, which involved wrap around care and supporting children with their daily routines. For example, helping children to get ready for school in the mornings, school drop offs, picking children up and engaging them in after school activities, preparing healthy meals for them, supporting with bathing and then bedtime routines. Prior to this, I have worked as a teaching assistant at both primary and secondary levels, and as a counsellor for summer camps for children of a range of ages. Throughout this, I have offered ad hoc babysitting support with experience caring for children from infancy to teenagers.
My Qualifications
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in Education during which I completed a placement year working with children. I have a Level 3 NVQ in Residential Childcare, Paediatric First Aid and Emergency Paediatric First Aid qualifications.
My Availability
I am very flexible with my availability though would like alternate weekends and a few evenings off per week if possible.
