About Me
I'm an experienced education professional, stepping back from a long career in the classroom and school leadership to offer warm, dependable childcare to local families. I provide babysitting, nannying and all-round care — including emergency and last-minute cover — during the day, in the evenings, at weekends and overnight. I'm just as comfortable settling a newborn as I am keeping older children happily occupied, and if it's helpful I'm very glad to prepare dinner or lend a hand with homework while I'm on duty. My aim is simple: for your children to be safe, settled and genuinely well looked after, and for you to step out knowing they're in calm, capable, caring hands. I hold an enhanced DBS and paediatric first aid.
My Experience
Across my career in education I have taught and cared for children of every age — from babies in the nursery at three months old, right through to young people of sixteen. I've worked across nursery and early years, primary and secondary settings, including as a senior leader and principal, so I'm confident with the whole range: feeds, naps and routines for the littlest ones; play, mealtimes and bedtime for primary-age children; and the homework, gentle boundaries and good conversation older ones thrive on. I also have experience supporting children with special educational needs and additional needs. I'm fully qualified, calm under pressure and well practised at keeping children safe, happy and settled. References from schools and families are available on request.
My Qualifications
PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching and Chartered Teacher (Leadership).
MSc in Educational Management and Leadership; BA (Hons) Music.
Over twenty-two years across early years, primary and secondary education, including headship and group leadership of nursery settings.
Enhanced DBS, paediatric first aid, Designated Safeguarding Lead and Safer Recruitment trained.
Experience supporting children with special educational needs.
More importantly - 3 grown up children of my own!

I have recently left work to set up my own company so have high levels of availability across the week.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
My rate reflects my experience as a qualified teacher and senior education leader — and the peace of mind that brings. As a guide, babysitting starts from £15 per hour, with the exact rate depending on the number of children, the time of booking (evenings, weekends or overnight), and any additional or special needs. Also if it is last minute or overnight care. I'm happy to agree a fair rate for regular bookings — just ask and we'll find something that works for us both.
