About Me

A Little Bit About Me / Ychydig Amdanaf i
Hello! Siwmae!

I'm someone who firmly believes that childhood should be filled with wonder, cozy moments, and plenty of laughter.

My absolute passion is reading (specifically, Julia Donaldson and Roald Dahl!). I love bringing stories and novels to life for young minds, turning everyday storytime into an imaginative adventure. I'm also a fluent Welsh speaker, so our days are naturally sprinkled with Welsh songs, stories, and a bit of cultural magic.

When I'm not lost in a good book, you'll usually find me leaning into my creative side. I love to color, I'm currently teaching myself how to sew, and I absolutely love baking cakes for my friends and family (which means there is always a love for kitchen creativity and fun treats in the air!).

My main goal is to create a learning environment where your little one feels entirely safe, deeply valued, and excited to explore. Whether we are getting messy with crafts, baking up a storm, or getting cozy in a reading corner, I aim to make every day a happy adventure - allowing them to learn even if they don't realise it!

My Experience

With over a decade of dedicated experience working with children, including 6+ years as a qualified primary school teacher, my background spans the entire spectrum of early childhood and primary education. Having taught across all primary year groups, I have a deep, practical understanding of child development and the unique milestones of each age.
Throughout my career, I have specialized in:
Early Literacy & Language: Designing engaging storytelling and phonics activities that spark a lifelong love for reading, alongside introducing bilingual elements as a fluent Welsh speaker.
Inclusive & Supportive Care: Tailoring my approach to meet diverse learning and behavioral needs, ensuring every child feels confident, understood, and supported.
Safety & Well-being: Maintaining the highest standards of child safety, rooted in extensive training in safeguarding and creating secure, nurturing environments.
Family Partnerships: Working closely alongside parents to provide transparent communication, developmental updates, and a consistent bridge between home and care.
My years in the classroom and in childcare have given me the tools to manage any situation with calm, patience, and a smile ensuring your child is receiving professional-level care.

My Qualifications

My educational background is rooted in a deep love for language and a commitment to high-level teaching. I hold a BA (Hons) Undergraduate Degree in English, which fuels my passion for early literacy and storytelling. Following this, I completed my Postgraduate Degree in Education, which I proudly studied and completed entirely through the medium of Welsh. This unique qualification allows me to bring a rich, authentic bilingual learning experience to my childcare practice.
Prior to my university degrees, I built a strong academic foundation with three A-Levels, a PASS in the Welsh Baccalaureate, and twelve GCSEs consisting of nine Bs and three Cs. This comprehensive education ensures I am fully equipped to support children across all core subjects and developmental stages.
I view learning as a lifelong journey and take my professional development incredibly seriously. Rather than relying solely on my formal degrees, I proactively seek out extra training opportunities whenever possible to further my professional understanding and ability. By actively tracking the latest updates in child welfare, bilingual education strategies, and advanced literacy techniques, I ensure that my care is always aligned with the highest modern standards.
