Jemima P
Babysitter in Exeter
My Summary
About Me
Hi! My name is Jemima, I provide caring, reliable, qualified babysitting, with SEND experience and flexible daytime, evening or weekend availability.
Hi, I'm Jemima! I'm a third-year MSci Applied Psychology (Clinical) student at the University of Exeter. I'm DBS checked, paediatric first aid trained, and counselling qualified, with experience working in primary schools and tutoring children one to one. I bring a calm, attentive approach built from both my degree and hands-on childcare experience, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with kids, not just keeping them safe, but understanding what they need.
My Experience
- Wraparound care, Premier Education (6 months): worked across various primary schools in Exeter, supervising before and after school care for groups of children, including some with additional needs
- Private tutor, MyTutor (ongoing): tutor primary and secondary age students one to one, building rapport and adapting my approach to each child
- Childcare volunteer, Bali (2 months): helped teach and look after local children as part of an international volunteering placement
- Volunteer, Sri Lanka (2 months): supported women and children with disabilities at a care institution in Kandy
- Welfare Secretary, University of Exeter scuba diving club: responsible for the wellbeing of over 100 members, including running welfare initiatives and acting as a point of contact for support
My Qualifications
- Enhanced DBS checked
- FAA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF)
- AIM Level 2 qualification in Counselling Skills
- Currently studying MSci Applied Psychology (Clinical), University of Exeter (entering 3rd year)
I don't hold a formal SEND-specific qualification, but I do have some relevant practical experience:
- Supported children with a range of additional needs during wraparound care placements in mainstream primary schools
- Volunteered at a care institution for women and children with disabilities in Kandy, Sri Lanka, assisting with daily care and activities
- My Level 2 Counselling Skills qualification means I'm comfortable adapting how I communicate and staying calm if a child is overwhelmed or having a big reaction
I'm always happy to chat beforehand about your child's specific needs so we can figure out together whether I'm the right fit.
