Saffron
Babysitter in Barnet
My Summary
About Me
Hi everyone, my name is Saffron. I’m a qualified nursery nurse with 8 years’ experience in childcare, including a year as a nursery room manager before going on maternity leave. I’m now on maternity leave myself and caring for my 3-month-old daughter, so I bring both professional experience and real-life mum experience.
I really enjoy working with children and creating a safe, happy and fun environment where they feel comfortable and cared for. I understand how important it is for parents to feel safe and confident leaving their child with someone who truly gets children and their needs.
I also think it’s really nice when parents can feel comfortable knowing they’re leaving their child with another parent who understands that level of care and safety. My daughter is very calm and sociable, and I’ve found that children often enjoy her being around too, it gives them a chance to interact and socialise in a natural way. Also parents who may be concerned about them having a baby, don’t worry I also have mastered my daughter being in a baby carrier and she loves it. So even if you have a pram, I can still make it work.
Overall, I’m caring, patient and reliable, and I always aim to make children feel happy, safe and settled while they’re with me.
My Experience
I have 8 years’ experience working in childcare across several nurseries, where I worked with children of different ages and built a strong understanding of early years development, routines and care. Over time, I progressed in my career and became an early years room leader, where I was responsible for leading staff, supporting the team and ensuring the room ran smoothly. I really enjoyed this role and seeing our team thrive together.
After a lot of thought, I decided to step down when I started thinking about starting my own family. I also wanted to give my close friend, who I worked with in the nursery, the opportunity to grow and take on a leadership role herself, which felt like the right decision for both of us at the time.
I am now at home with my 3-month-old daughter, and I continue to use my childcare experience every day by creating fun, age-appropriate activities and supporting her development at home.
At the moment, I do want to return to work, but I’m not quite ready to be fully separated from my daughter yet. Because of this, I’m looking for childcare work that allows me to still be with her while doing something I love and have lots of experience in. School picks up would be ideal but I also offer daytime babysitting.
