My Summary
About Me
I am a caring, reliable and patient individual who is currently studying Mental Health Nursing. Looking after children has always been a natural part of my life, and I genuinely enjoy helping them learn, grow and feel safe.
I have a calm and friendly personality and enjoy spending time with children through play, reading stories, singing nursery rhymes, arts and crafts, outdoor activities and supporting their daily routines. I understand that every child is unique, so I always adapt my approach to meet their individual personality, needs and interests.
My priority is creating a safe, nurturing and fun environment where children feel comfortable, happy and supported while giving parents peace of mind that their children are in trustworthy hands.
My Experience
I have been caring for children from a young age and have experience supporting children from newborns through to teenagers.
From the age of 12, I took on significant responsibility for caring for two younger boys on a daily basis. I helped with their morning and evening routines, prepared breakfast and packed lunches, ensured their school uniforms were ready, collected them after school, helped with homework, prepared meals and supported them with bedtime routines. This experience taught me patience, responsibility and the importance of providing children with a safe, consistent and caring environment.
I have also cared for a three-year-old autistic child. While living with the family for several months, I supported him with his daily routines, personal care, communication and play, ensuring he remained safe and comfortable while his mum was at work. I learned to adapt my communication and approach to meet his individual needs and provide reassurance through familiar routines.
In addition, I regularly cared for a five-year-old girl by helping with school pick-ups, supervising play and supporting her daily routine. I have also babysat a ten-year-old boy, preparing meals, supervising activities and making sure he was safe, comfortable and well cared for.
Alongside my personal childcare experience, I am currently studying Mental Health Nursing and have completed Level 3 Health and Social Care. Through my studies, I have developed a strong understanding of child development, safeguarding, effective communication, confidentiality and person-centred care, which I apply whenever I am looking after children.
