My Experience

I worked as a private nanny in London from 2018 to 2024, caring for up to three children per household and handling the full daily rhythm: pickups, meals, bath time, homework, and bedtime routines, plus French lessons where families wanted it. Early on, I was after-school nanny for a family with a two-year-old, responsible for play dates, activities, bath time, and dinner, the kind of close, attentive toddler care I most enjoy. I also worked over the summer as full-time nanny for a family of five with three children aged 7, 9, and 12, including home tutoring during lockdown. One family I worked with, the Roux Pinaults, wrote me a warm reference after I cared for their daughter Salomé (then 2–3 years old) for a year, they specifically noted the daily age-appropriate activities, psychomotor games, healthy home-cooked meals, and that I was reliably available even in emergencies. Alongside nannying, I have over five years of teaching experience. I worked as an English middle-school teacher at Collège Marie de la Tour d'Auvergne in Thouars, France, and I have taught a Saturday morning class (CM2, ages 10–11) at La Petite École des Crocodiles in London for 5 years. For the past several years I've also run my own private French tutoring practice, working one-on-one with students across a wide age range, from young children building early literacy and confidence in French, up to teenagers preparing for the Baccalauréat. This mix of early-years care and structured teaching means I'm just as comfortable with toddler play and routine as I am building a child's confidence and skills as they grow.

My Qualifications

I hold a valid first aid certificate with peadiatric in depth additional training, and a clean UK driving licence (automatic transmission only at the moment). I have settled status in the UK and hold a valid French passport, so there's no issue with right-to-work. I studied in Sweden, and outside of childcare I've worked in production coordination roles (including at Apple), which has sharpened my organisation, discretion, and reliability; qualities that carry over directly into managing a family's routines and trust. I'm more than happy with pets, flexible on extra babysitting when needed, and always happy to bring some craft, drawing, or French into the day.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £14.00 per hour

My hourly rate for occasional babysitting in Folkestone is £14 per hour for one child, with a small increase of £4 per additional child. This reflects my first aid certification, DBS check, and years of professional childcare and teaching experience. Later evenings or last-minute requests work out to £17 per hour.
For regular nanny work (set days/hours, ongoing routine), my rate is £16 per hour, reflecting the fuller scope of responsibilities (meals, school runs, homework support, bath and bedtime routines) plus optional French lessons or tutoring built into the day. I'm happy to discuss a discounted rate for a regular weekly schedule versus the standard rate for occasional or ad-hoc bookings.
