My Experience

I have over nine years of hands-on childcare experience through helping to raise my younger brother, who is 12 years younger than me. This has included school pick-ups and drop-offs, preparing meals, taking him to swimming lessons and football practice, helping with bedtime routines, overnight care and supporting his emotional wellbeing as he has grown.

Alongside this, I've babysat for family friends and worked as an Events Support Worker with Newton Stewart Initiative, where I helped run youth groups and family events for children of all ages. I organised crafts, storytelling sessions, outdoor games and creative activities, helping children feel included, engaged and confident.

Growing up around my mum, who works in early years additional support needs education, has also shaped the way I approach childcare. I've learnt the importance of patience, emotional regulation and creating a warm, supportive environment where every child feels valued.

My Qualifications

I'm currently in my fifth year of an MEng Robotics degree at Heriot-Watt University. Alongside my academic background, I have over eight years of practical childcare experience through helping to raise my younger brother and supporting children through youth groups, family events and regular babysitting.

I've grown up around early years education through my mum, who works in additional support needs education, which has shaped my calm, nurturing and child-centred approach. I'm always keen to learn and develop my childcare skills, and I'm happy to obtain any additional training or certifications that families may require.

My Availability

I'm currently based in Edinburgh while completing my final year at Heriot-Watt University as a research assistant. My schedule is completely flexible around my university commitments, and I'm available for regular daytime childcare, after-school care, evening babysitting and weekend work.

I'm happy to discuss your family's needs and will always do my best to be flexible where possible.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £15.00 per hour

My rates are flexible depending on the family's needs, the number of children and the hours required. I'm happy to discuss regular or occasional childcare and find a rate that works for everyone.
