About Me

I'm a term-time specialist tutor looking for nannying work during the school holidays. Having recently moved to the UK from New Zealand, I'm excited to support families by creating calm, engaging, and nurturing environments where children can thrive.

I'm passionate about getting to know each child as an individual and adapting my approach to meet their unique strengths, interests, and needs. Whether we're at home, out in the community, or enjoying a day of adventure, my priority is helping children feel safe, understood, and confident enough to explore the world around them.

My background is in supporting children with a wide range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, sensory differences, and emotional regulation challenges. I take a neurodiversity-affirming, relationship-first approach, focusing on building trust, encouraging independence, and creating routines that help children feel secure. Above all, I believe every child deserves to feel valued, respected, and free to be themselves.

I'm a calm, reliable, and creative person who enjoys getting outdoors, making things, reading stories, and following children's interests through play. I love building genuine connections with the families I work alongside and becoming someone both children and parents can rely on.

My Experience

I hold a Master's degree in Inclusive and Special Education, and over the past several years I've combined that knowledge with hands-on experience supporting children both one-to-one and within educational settings. Most recently, I worked as a Learning Support Assistant in New Zealand before relocating to the UK, where I now work as a specialist tutor during term time.

My experience includes supporting children with autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, emotional regulation needs, anxiety, and school avoidance. My Master's deepened my understanding of child development, inclusive practice, and neurodiversity-affirming support, while my day-to-day work has taught me that every child is unique. I believe the best support comes from taking the time to understand each child's individual strengths, communication style, and interests, then adapting my approach to help them feel safe, capable, and understood.

I'm experienced in supporting emotional regulation, creating predictable routines, using visual supports and AAC, encouraging independence with daily tasks, and adapting activities so children can participate with confidence. I also work closely with families, recognising that consistency and collaboration between home and other environments helps children thrive.

Alongside my SEND experience, I'm confident supporting all aspects of day-to-day childcare, from preparing meals and helping with homework to planning engaging activities, getting outdoors, and making everyday routines enjoyable. Above all, I aim to provide a calm, dependable, and caring presence so children feel secure, and parents feel confident that their child is in safe hands.

My Qualifications

Master's degree (Distinction) in Inclusive and Special Education and a Bachelor's degree in Education and Psychology, both completed at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, complemented by several years of hands-on experience supporting children with a wide range of additional needs in both educational and one-to-one settings.

My Availability

During the school holidays, I'm available for full-time nannying, Monday to Friday, and I'm flexible with start and finish times where possible. I'm also happy to help with the occasional evening of babysitting, providing consistent, reliable care whenever your family needs a little extra support.
