About Me
I am a very experienced primary teacher and now full time private tutor based in West London, who has worked closely with families within their own homes, or less conventional settings, for many years. My work with younger students is driven by the wish to ensure strong foundations, and to educate the whole child, keeping them motivated and building resilience.
My Experience
Primary School Teacher within UK schools, teaching mainly Reception to Year 3.
Assistant Headteacher within two of these schools, tackling school wide underachievement or maintaining high standards throughout.
Supply Teacher: covering classes from Nursery to Year 6 in various schools.
Travelling Teacher: working internationally and sometimes in very remote locations, with responsibility for the children's education (homeschooling).
Private Tutor: weekly tutoring with children aged 3-11, including some preparation for entrance exams.
My Qualifications
BA(Hons) in Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). This degree qualifies me to teach all subjects in the primary age range, with an emphasis on the 3-8 age range.
Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
My Availability
I only offer in-person tuition within a child's own home, feeling that this best suits the needs of younger students. This could be weekly tuition any reasonably commutable distance in London, or longer term/residential positions further afield, including overseas.
