My Experience

I've been caring for children for as long as I can remember. As the fifth of seven siblings, helping with both household chores and caring for my younger brother and sister was a natural part of everyday life. This gave me experience with children from the newborn stage right through to their early teens, and helped me become patient, responsible, and confident in a busy family environment.

As I got older, I began babysitting on weekends and during school holidays. During this time, I cared for up to four children at once, preparing meals, keeping shared spaces tidy, organising games and activities both indoors and outdoors, and making sure the children were safe, happy, and engaged.

For the past few summers, I've also worked as a childcarer for the same family while both parents worked full-time. My day would begin early, making breakfast for the four children, helping them get dressed and ready for the day. I would plan fun activities, which meant we often spent time outdoors at local parks or on walks before returning home for lunch and quieter afternoon activities such as arts and crafts, baking, reading, or imaginative play.

While the younger children napped, I would use the time to tidy the house, do light household tasks, and prepare for the rest of the day. My aim was always for the parents to come home to children who had been well cared for, entertained, and happy, as well as a clean and organised home. Working with the same family over multiple summers has allowed me to build a trusting relationship with both the parents and the children, and has strengthened my confidence in providing reliable, attentive, and nurturing childcare.

My Qualifications

MA English Literature graduate from the University of Glasgow with a 2:1.
Extensive childcare experience through caring for younger siblings, regular babysitting, and working as a summer childcarer for the same family over multiple years.
Confident caring for children from newborns to teenagers.
Experienced with meal preparation, bedtime routines, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, homework support, and light housekeeping.
First Aid Training completed in High School.
TEFL Training completed.
Happy to help with pets and household tasks.
Willing to obtain any others if required.

My Availability

I currently live in Manchester, but I am looking to relocate to London, as since I left, I have been yearning to get back! My current job requires two weeks notice, but I am available to start as soon as this is given.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £18.00 per hour

Negotiable depending on how many children and responsibilities.
I am looking for a live-in nanny/au pair opportunity.
