About Me
My strengths are mainly seen in the areas of supporting young people, mentoring, behaviour management, encouraging and motivating, individuals and groups. I am self-motivated, enthusiastic, creative and adaptable. I enjoy working constructively independently and as well as part of a team to help meet a need. I am constantly growing through relationship experiences in different areas of life’s development, supporting to be part of the solution where it is needed.
I have worked with young people since 2003, supporting pre-school, youth charity and also in education.
My babysitting service include pick ups and drop offs to school or nursery with afterschool support.
My Experience
Facilitate various wellbeing workshops in groups and on a one-to-one basis as a youth worker to Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form students
Established a dance workshop within the Oasis youth club community in Enfield Lock, to encourage young people within the community to develop more self-confidence which they translated into different activities and areas at school and day to day life.
Managed annual fundraising charity events for Ashanti-Akim Community Organisation. Responsible for coordinating the event. Liaising with different companies and individuals within the community.
Facilitating and delivering Youth Mental Health First Aid courses to staff, students and individuals within the local community.
Delivering and facilitating wellbeing sessions online or face to face.
Liaised with teachers, staff, parents/carers and external professionals to assist each student in order to engage them in learning and also help them to gain more confidence ensuring them to keep taking steps in building resilience.
Pastoral support for Year 7, Year 8, Year 9, Year 10 , Year 11 and Year 12
Resolve conflict and facilitate mediation between young people and also conflict between staff and young people.
Supervised students excluded from school, or not working to a normal timetable.
Supported targeted students, by delivering 1:1 and small group interventions with students to significantly improve their behaviour (both social and learning), progress and attendance.
Supported early morning reading for KS3 and breakfast club
Assisted in educating children in all areas of the curriculum, by specifically focusing on the Special Educational Needs the students may have. Breaking each subject down to bite sizes. In addition, liaising with parents to help give the right support at home.
Supported students who speak English as a second language.
Worked with young people who display challenging behavior, by motivating and encouraging them in some areas of interests.
