About Me

Hi everyone,

My name is Tracy and I am 30 years old and I am currently studying as a medical student .

I have been blessed with the opportunity to help care for my siblings and extended family, and so I have grown to enjoy investing in children and seeing them happy, learning, and growing in a safe, supportive, happy and comfortable environment.

I also value building kind and professional relationships with parents so that, while acknowledging my own limitations, I can help make their search for childcare a little easier.

I am someone who lives by certain values, and I am also a Christian. So I aim to understand and respect the values of the families I support, and I aim to care for each child in a way that aligns with the values and preferences shared with me by their parents.

I am also an advocate for healthy, balanced eating where possible, and I am happy to support parents in encouraging this.

Finally, I am always willing to learn and grow, so I genuinely welcome feedback that will help me continually improve the care and service I provide.

My Experience

I have been supporting the child care of my sibling and extended family since I was 7 years old. Supporting one another is a core value from the family I grew up in and so I have over time acquired skills to look after children.

I also have experience in tutoring. I was able to support an 11+ student to successfully pass their exam within 1 year of teaching them. I supported them by building a curriculum tailored to them and getting to know the strengths and weakness and personality of the child. I am happy to help children with their homework.

I also have experience working in mental and general hospital settings as a support worker and so I am sensitive to giving attention to details. I do this by understanding who I am taking care of and working within my given duties to ensure care is delivered in a way that follows protocol, is compassionate and kind, and is honest where mistakes have been made.

Although I may not have formal experience as a child carer, I have skills that are transferrable, and I am willing to learn more.

My Qualifications

MBBS medical student, DBS checked, with training in basic life support,
communication. Experienced in working with children through tutoring and developing age-appropriate communication skills during clinical training.
