Jessica
Babysitter in Leeds
My Summary
About Me
I am a friendly, caring, and responsible person who genuinely enjoys working with children. I am patient, approachable, and reliable, and I aim to provide a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment where children feel comfortable and supported.
I am looking to branch out into childcare and babysitting, offering families a responsible and enthusiastic person who can support their children with their individual routines and needs. I particularly enjoy keeping children active and engaged through fun activities, games, and play.
I hold a First-Class BSc (Hons) degree in PE and Sport and am completing teacher training in Secondary PE. My training is currently paused as I am awaiting surgery on both of my knees, which may affect my availability and mobility for a period of time. I will always be open and clear with parents about my availability and what I am able to offer.
I am keen to build a trusted relationship with families and provide childcare that is caring, dependable, and tailored to each child's needs.
My Experience
My professional experience with children has been gained through working in both primary and secondary school settings.
I have worked as a Trainee PE Teacher in secondary schools, where I have planned and delivered PE lessons for students aged 11–18, led whole-class and small-group activities, supported behaviour management, and adapted activities to accommodate different abilities and needs.
I have also completed school placements in primary and SEND settings, supporting teachers with classroom activities, learning, behaviour management, and individual pupil needs. Most recently, I have worked as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school through an agency.
Through these roles, I have developed experience in supervising children, communicating effectively, building positive relationships, supporting individual needs, and creating inclusive environments. I have also developed strong proactivity, patience, adaptability, and behaviour-management skills.
While I have not worked specifically as a babysitter before, my experience in education has provided me with a strong foundation for childcare. I am now looking to build on this experience by working directly with families and gaining further experience in babysitting and childcare.
My Qualifications
I graduated last year from the University of Lincoln and hold a First-Class BSc (Hons) degree in PE and Sport. I am completing a PGCE in Secondary Education (11–18) with Physical Education.
Through both courses I have developed knowledge and practical experience in working with children and young people, including supporting pupils with SEND. I have experience with behaviour management, safeguarding procedures, inclusive practice, communication, and adapting activities to suit different ages and abilities.
My background in PE also means I am confident planning and supporting fun, active, and age-appropriate activities. I am committed to continuing to develop my knowledge and experience within childcare.
