About Me
Hello, I’m Suzy. I’m a caring, nurturing and patient person who genuinely adores working with children. For me, one of the most rewarding parts of childcare is watching children grow and develop, gain confidence and become happy, well-rounded little people.
I have over 12 years’ experience working with children, from preschool age right through to Year 6, and I currently work within a school. I hold a Level 3 Childcare qualification, am DBS checked and have experience supporting children with SEND and working alongside healthcare professionals.
Previously, I set up and successfully ran my own wraparound childcare business, which gave me valuable experience in creating a safe, fun and nurturing environment that both children and parents could feel happy and comfortable with.
As a mum myself, with my own children now in their teenage years, I understand just how important it is to know that your children are being cared for by someone you can genuinely trust.
I’d describe myself as warm, calm, approachable and very hands-on. I love getting to know each child as an individual, encouraging their interests and independence, and helping them feel happy, secure and supported.
I’m a big animal lover too, so having family pets around would be a lovely bonus! I’m more than happy to help care for them, as well as lending a hand with the everyday things that come with a busy family home.
I’m now looking for a nanny role where I can build a genuine relationship with the children and their family and become a trusted, reliable and caring part of their everyday lives.
My Experience
I currently work as a Teaching Assistant within a private school, providing 1:1 support and helping children with their learning, communication, confidence, independence and development. I have extensive experience supporting children with SEND and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), as well as working closely with teachers, parents and external healthcare professionals to provide consistent, child-centred support.
Previously, I set up and ran my own wraparound childcare business, where I was responsible for the day-to-day care and wellbeing of children, planning activities, managing staff and communicating with parents while creating a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment.
Prior to this, I spent five years as a Teaching Assistant within a state primary school, supporting individual children and groups across different ages and abilities.
I have experience working with younger children too, having worked within a preschool while completing my Level 3 Early Years Educator Diploma. This gave me valuable hands-on experience of Early Years development and learning through play, as well as supporting children as they take those important first steps towards greater confidence and independence.
Having worked across preschool, state and private school settings, as well as running my own childcare provision, I’ve been fortunate to care for children across a wide range of ages, abilities and individual needs.
I hold a Level 3 Early Years Educator Diploma and have undertaken additional training in areas including safeguarding, autism, ADHD awareness and child counselling.
My experience has given me a really good understanding of children at different stages of their development, while also teaching me that every child is an individual and needs their own balance of care, encouragement, routine and support.

I am currently employed within a private school, so would need to give four weeks’ notice. For the right family and position, I would be very happy to make that commitment and agree a suitable start date around my notice period.
I would be looking to work term time only but possibly work 3 days a week during the school holidays (this can be discussed)
