About Me
I would provide a safe, caring and positive environment for the children while making sure they feel comfortable, listened to and supported. I would follow the parents’ routines and instructions carefully, including meal times, naps, homework, playtime and bedtime routines. I would keep the children entertained with age-appropriate activities such as games, arts and crafts, reading, outdoor play and educational activities. I would encourage them to be independent while always supervising them and making their safety my priority. I would also make sure the children are well looked after throughout the day, including preparing meals and snacks, keeping play areas tidy and maintaining good communication with the parents about how their day went. My aim would be to build a trusting relationship with both the children and their parents so they feel confident leaving their children in my care.
My Experience
I have experience working with children through my previous work at a school, as well as my experience as a lifeguard. Working in a school environment gave me experience interacting with children, supporting them and helping to maintain a safe and positive environment. As a lifeguard, I have developed strong skills in supervision, responsibility, communication and safeguarding, as children’s safety is a key part of the role. I am confident remaining calm and responsible in different situations and understand the importance of paying close attention to children at all times. I am patient, approachable and caring, and I enjoy engaging with children through activities, games and conversation. I would always follow the parents’ routines and instructions while making sure the children feel safe, comfortable and looked after.
My Qualifications
I have a full DBS check, along with a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ), First Aid and Defibrillator training. These qualifications have given me strong skills in child safety, supervision and responding calmly and appropriately in emergency situations. I also have experience working in a school and as a lifeguard, giving me practical experience working with children and maintaining a safe and positive environment. In addition, I have completed fire safety training and have experience in responsible roles where communication, reliability and attention to detail are important. I would bring these skills and qualifications into a nanny role to ensure the children are safe, well cared for and supported at all times.
My Availability
I am available to work Monday to Saturday, both during the day and in the evenings, and I can be flexible with my working hours depending on the family’s needs. Sundays are normally my day off, but I am happy to work on Sundays when arranged and discussed in advance.
