My Summary
About Me
Hi, I'm Britney, the owner of Blossom and Bloom Family Childcare. I'm a caring, patient and enthusiastic childcare professional with over 6 years experience working with young children, and a Level 3 qualification.
I'm passionate about creating a safe, nurturing and enjoyable environment where children feel happy, confident and supported. I believe children learn best through play, exploration and meaningful experiences, and I love incorporating creative activities, stories, outdoor play, nature and opportunities to develop new skills in my care.
Through Blossom and Bloom, I provide personalised childcare in children’s own homes, tailored to each child’s individual needs, interests and routine. I’m also happy to take children out for suitable activities and outings, including parks, nature walks, libraries and other child-friendly experiences.
I understand that every child is unique, and I aim to build a trusting relationship with both children and their parents. Communication with parents is really important to me, and I want families to feel confident that their child is being cared for with kindness, respect and attention.
My aim is to provide more than just childcare — I want children to feel safe, valued and encouraged to learn, explore and blossom.
My Experience
I have over 7 years of professional experience working with children in an early years nursery setting, including caring for children aged 2–3 years. I hold a Level 3 qualification in The Children's and Young People's workforce. During this time, I have supported children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS, planned and provided age-appropriate activities, and supported children’s individual needs, interests and routines.
My experience includes supporting children with communication and language, early literacy and numeracy, physical development, creativity, social and emotional development, and learning through play.
I've gained experience creating engaging activities such as messy play, arts and crafts, sensory activities, stories, music and movement, outdoor play and nature-based learning. I particularly enjoy providing opportunities for children to explore, investigate and develop independence through hands-on experiences.
I have also worked closely with parents and colleagues to support children’s wellbeing, development and individual needs, while maintaining a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment.
Maintaining tidiness and cleanliness is also an important skill I have gained.
Before working within a nursery setting, I worked for a charity that provided activities and care for children with additional needs, disabilities and life limiting illness'. This is where I gain my Level 3 qualification. I planned and carried out activities targeted at ages 1-18, prepared and served food, maintained cleanliness of the setting and keeping children safe.
