About Me

I’m 27 years old originally from Cork in Ireland. I moved to Manchester a year ago to start my masters degree. I’ve got your typical big Irish family who grew up always surrounded by younger cousins who I would mind and take care of. I’m a friendly, caring and reliable person who genuinely enjoys working with children. I’m patient, responsible and approachable, and I always aim to make children feel comfortable, safe and listened to. I enjoy getting involved in activities rather than simply supervising, whether that’s playing games, doing crafts, helping with homework or getting outdoors.

I’m currently in my second year of a Masters in Physiotherapy, so I’m organised, responsible and used to working in environments where the safety and wellbeing of others is a priority. Outside of university, I play rugby, which has also developed my teamwork, communication and leadership skills.

I understand how important it is for parents to feel confident leaving their children with someone, and I would always treat each family’s routines, preferences and home with respect.

My Experience

I have previous babysitting experience in Ireland, where I regularly babysat for several families, particularly at weekends. I cared for children of different ages and was responsible for keeping them safe and entertained, preparing meals and snacks, helping with bedtime routines, taking them for appointments, trainings and school, and making sure they were settled and comfortable while their parents were away.

I’m comfortable following parents’ routines and instructions and understand that every child and family is different. I enjoy getting involved with the children through games, activities, reading, outdoor play and other things they enjoy, while also being able to manage bedtime and quieter routines when needed.

My wider experience working with children in schools, coaching rugby and supporting children with additional needs has also given me plenty of confidence communicating with children and managing different personalities and needs. I’m responsible, patient and reliable, and I understand how important it is for parents to feel completely comfortable and confident when leaving their children in my care.

My Qualifications

I have extensive experience working with children across a range of ages and abilities. I have worked in both primary schools with children aged 5–12 and secondary schools with young people aged 13–18. I have also supported children with additional needs through CoAction, a charity in Ireland providing services to children and adults with disabilities.

I am currently in my second year of a Masters in Physiotherapy, which has given me additional training and experience in communication, safeguarding, child development, health and wellbeing. I hold a current DBS check and am first-aid trained through my physiotherapy course, including training relevant to children. I also hold a full driving license of 9 years and have my own car which I can use for transport.

I also have experience coaching rugby, where I have worked with children and young people in a sporting environment, developing my ability to communicate clearly, build confidence and create a fun but safe environment.

Alongside my professional experience, I have previously babysat for several families in Ireland, including weekend babysitting. I am comfortable caring for children of different ages and personalities and understand the importance of being responsible, patient, reliable and attentive while also making sure children have fun and feel comfortable.

Overall, I feel my combination of professional, educational, sporting and personal childcare experience makes me well equipped to provide safe, caring and engaging childcare.

My Availability

As I am currently a second-year Masters Physiotherapy student, my availability can vary depending on my university timetable and placement commitments. However, I am generally available throughout most of the week as my second year is much more free than my first year- I have my timetable now available which is a bit different week to week which is why I’ve selected my availability for always- but this can be discussed.

I’m also happy to consider last-minute babysitting where my schedule allows. I understand that every family has different needs, so I’m happy to discuss preferred days, times and regular arrangements directly with parents.

My Fees

  • Babysitting from £12.00 per hour

My standard babysitting rate is £12 per hour. This reflects my previous childcare and babysitting experience, experience working with children across primary and secondary school settings, experience supporting children with additional needs, and my current training as a second-year Masters Physiotherapy student. I also hold a DBS check and relevant first-aid training. It also may be to cover the cost of travel depending on where I would be driving to.

I aim to provide reliable, responsible and engaging childcare, giving parents peace of mind that their children are in safe and capable hands.

My rate may increase depending on the number of children being cared for, as caring for multiple children requires additional responsibility, attention and organisation. Any change to the hourly rate would always be discussed and agreed upon with parents in advance.
