Nikki
Nanny in Newcastle Upon Tyne
My Summary
About Me
I am a caring, patient and Level 3 qualified childcare professional with nearly 10 years of experience working with children. Supporting children with SEND and additional needs is something I am genuinely passionate about. I love getting to know each child as an individual, understanding how they communicate, what makes them happy, what they find difficult and what helps them feel safe and comfortable.
A large part of my career has involved 1-to-1 and 1-to-2 support, and I really value the relationships I build with the children I work with. I love helping children develop their confidence, independence and communication, while making sure they feel accepted for who they are.
I am now looking to bring this experience and passion into a home-based nanny role, where I can provide more individualised support and become a trusted person in a child’s life and their family’s routine.
My Experience
I have nearly 10 years of professional childcare experience and hold a Level 3 childcare qualification. I have extensive experience supporting children with SEND and additional needs, with much of my experience being in 1-to-1 and 1-to-2 roles.
I have supported children with a range of needs and have experience adapting activities, communication and routines to suit individual children. My experience includes supporting communication, emotional regulation, behaviour, learning, play, personal care and day-to-day routines, as well as providing close supervision and helping children develop their independence.
Throughout my career I have completed a wide range of relevant training, including Makaton and autism-related training, alongside SEND, safeguarding and other childcare training. I am used to working closely with parents, teachers and other professionals to provide consistent support.
I particularly enjoy finding ways to help children communicate, participate and enjoy things that are meaningful to them. I believe every child deserves to be understood, supported and given the opportunity to thrive in a way that works for them.
My Qualifications
I hold a CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and have nearly 10 years of professional experience working with children, with extensive experience supporting children with SEND and additional needs.
I have completed Makaton training and multiple autism-focused training courses, as well as training in supporting challenging behaviour. I also have First Aid training and experience using a range of individualised approaches and activities, including Box Time, Bucket Time and Creative Curiosity Time, which I have used when providing 1:1 support in school.
My experience has predominantly involved 1:1 and 1:2 support, giving me extensive practical experience adapting communication, activities, routines and support to individual children’s needs.
I also hold GCSEs including English, Higher Maths, Science, Food Technology and French.
My Availability
I am looking for a regular live-out nanny position, ideally around 30–40 hours per week. I am particularly interested in Monday–Friday daytime hours and providing childcare in the family’s home while parents are working. I am also open to discussing different schedules depending on the family’s needs, including school holidays and some evenings.
I am based in the Walker area of Newcastle and rely on public transport, so I am looking for a family whose home is accessible by public transport. I am happy to discuss availability and hours with individual families to find an arrangement that works well for everyone.
My Fees
- Nannying from £16.00 per hour (gross)
My nannying rate starts from £16 per hour gross and can vary depending on the hours, number of children and level of support required. I am happy to discuss rates with families and agree an arrangement that works for everyone.

- UK Passport (issued 07/07/2015)
