About Me
I am a highly motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated Primary, Secondary and on-line tutor (specialist subjects, English and Drama) covering curriculum and lessons for students aged four to adult. I thrive on preparing and delivering well-structured and creative lessons which inspire, motivate and positively challenge pupils. I utilize methods and practices appropriate to specific individual learning styles, including a very strong focus on SEND students, to ensure all students are supported, appropriately challenged and inspired at every level, with a positive, can-do attitude, a flexible approach and always with a smile!
My Experience
I have a strong international teaching and people-focused background, having worked and lived in Africa, the Middle East, USA, Caribbean, Spain and UK. Teaching across the age and ability range, with a genuine interest in students’ needs and aspirations, I adapt my teaching to accommodate the most able, and for those who find the subject challenging.
I have an enhanced child DBS, on the Update Service and the following certificates: Paediatric and Workplace First Aid, Allergy & Anaphylaxis Training, Safeguarding, Keeping Children Safe in Education, Keeping Children Safe Online, Prevent, GPDR, Health and Safety, Slips, Trips and Falls, Risk Assessment, Fire Risk Assessment, and Food Safety and Hygiene, etc.
My Qualifications
I am a qualified English teacher (PGCE) and have taught Drama (LAMDA exams) for over twenty years and English as a second language/English for Speakers of Other Languages. I have tutored on-line, specialising in KS1, KS2, KS3, 11 +, GCSE, IGCE, International Baccalaureate (IB), Cambridge Lower and Upper Secondary curriculums, Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint, Alternative Provision, AS/A-Level curriculums, SEND | English Language and Literature syllabus across multiple exam boards and set texts for Literature.
