Freya
Babysitter in London
My Summary
About Me
Hi! I’m a friendly, outgoing and caring babysitter (and marine biologist in my main job!) with many years of experience looking after children from toddlers through to young teenagers. I have volunteered at youth club and give talks about my time in Antarctica at primary schools. I LOVE arts and crafts, games, exploring outdoors or going on fun day trips!
I’m first-aid trained and have a current DBS check from my other professional role. I’m also very happy to help with homework, particularly science! Outside of work, I’m a keen scuba diver and love being outdoors and learning new things.
I work a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off schedule, so I have excellent availability during my time off, including both daytime and evening babysitting. I’m happy to help with dinner and bedtime routines too. I’m happy to provide references from previous families too!
My Experience
I have many years of babysitting experience, having regularly looked after several local families. I cared for children ranging from around 4 years old through to young teenagers, often on a weekly basis. My responsibilities included preparing meals, helping with bedtime routines, keeping children entertained, playing games, doing creative activities.
I also regularly looked after two siblings during some school holidays over a number of years, taking responsibility for them throughout the day and planning activities to keep them entertained.
More recently, I spent a week nannying for an 8-year-old during the summer holidays, taking them on day trips, visiting museums and organising fun activities. I also babysit for them and their 4 year old sister in the evenings on occasions.
I volunteered at an after school youth club for a year in 2024, undertaking safeguarding training there too. I helped organise activities and playing games with the primary school aged kids.
I often give outreach sessions about my time working in Antarctica at primary schools - the kids love asking me questions all about this!
I’ve recently moved to Walthamstow Village from Cambridge, so I’m looking forward to meeting and getting to know some new local families and hopefully becoming someone they can rely on!
