Babysitter in Newbury
My Summary
About Me
I am an 18 year old student at St Bart’s school. I’m a friendly, caring and responsible person with a genuine passion for helping others, particularly children. I’m interested in psychology and child development, which has helped me appreciate how important it is for children to feel safe, supported and understood. Through my experience supporting younger students in school and helping others, I’ve developed patience, empathy and strong communication skills. I’m DBS trained and take my responsibilities seriously, always aiming to create a positive, fun and reassuring environment where children feel comfortable being themselves. I enjoy getting involved in activities, helping children learn new things and making sure they feel listened to and cared for. I’d love the opportunity to support a family and provide reliable, attentive childcare that parents can feel confident in.
My Experience
Through my studies in Health & Social Care, I have developed an understanding of safeguarding, children’s needs and the importance of promoting their wellbeing. My interest in psychology has also encouraged me to learn more about how children develop, communicate and express their emotions at different stages of life. I understand that every child is different and that it is important to adapt to their individual personality, needs and routines. I would enjoy helping children with activities, creative play and learning, while ensuring they feel comfortable, included and supported. I am also reliable, organised and keen to learn, and I would always respect parents’ wishes and follow their guidance when caring for their children. I have a part time job in marks and Spencer’s and so communicate with people of all ages, as well as this I have previously been a listener for a mental health charity and I support SEN students in a year seven class at school.
My Qualifications
9 GCSES grade 5-8. Currently studying A levels in year 13. I’m doing health and social care, philosophy and ethics and sociology. I am wanting to go to university afterwards to become a clinical psychologist. I have done safeguarding courses, neurodivergence courses alongside being a volunteer for mental health services.
My Availability
I’m flexible weekday evenings and can occasionally do weekends if needed around my marks and Spencer’s shifts. In school holidays I am much more flexible.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
It purely depends on the task. Sitting in the house once children are already in bed would be of course lower than having to feed bathe and put to bed etc.
