Maddie
Babysitter in Sheffield
About Me
Born and raised in Sheffield, I grew up spending lots of time around children of lots of different ages engaging in Rainbows, Brownies and Guides as well as many after school groups such as Netball and Swimming. As I got older I knew that I really wanted to work with children so spent lots of time volunteering at Brownies and Forest Schools to build experiences and pursue what I've always enjoyed. I am currently on my gap year before I head to University of Liverpool to study Psychology. Eventually I would love to work as a Clinical Psychologist working with children who have SEND and Physical disabilities.
My Experience
Currently, I work with Fit Kids Forest Skills at multiple schools across the city aiding Outdoor leaders in providing integral outdoor experiences to children from different backgrounds. During this time, I have developed important skills such as outdoor safety and first aid training whilst learning how to deal with the complex needs displayed by the young children. I also work with a SEND curriculum group catering to a wide range of needs and ensuring that they are able to be fully engaged and fulfilled in Forest School whilst promoting a sense of belonging for these children.
Similarly, I volunteered for two years with the 204th Brownies Division providing unique and otherwise inaccessible experiences to young girls promoting skills such as confidence, cooking, outdoor safety, creativity and building friendships.
