My Summary
About Me
Hi families!
I am an international student from the US currently studying at Durham University, I offer a unique blend of experienced childcare, primary academic tutoring, and positive behavior mentorship. Back in the States, I gained extensive experience working with children from toddlerhood through to school age. While I am fully capable of caring for younger children, my primary specialty and preference lie with school-aged children (ages 4 and up).
Positive Behavior Management & Engagement:
I put a strong emphasis on positive behavior redirection and emotional intelligence. Using clear and calm communication to gently redirect challenging or high-energy actions into constructive, useful, and desired outcomes. I love keeping kids engaged through creative play, reading, and active learning.
Academic Tutoring & Homework Help:
Alongside standard childcare, I am passionate about helping children excel in their schoolwork. I can confidently provide structured primary school homework support or specialized tutoring. While I can provide support with an array of subjects my strongest include:
• Humanities: English Literature, English Language, and History
• Sciences: Biology and Environmental Science
• Bilingual Bonus: I can speak both English and Persian (Farsi) plus intermediate level Spanish lm happy to support language practice if desired!
Logistics, Safety & Availability:
For your peace of mind, I hold valid, up-to-date US certifications in Pediatric First Aid and CPR. I am a strict non-smoker, perfectly comfortable sharing a home with family pets (cats and dogs are completely fine!), and fully permitted to work up to 20 hours per week under my UK student visa regulations. If needed I can provide you with evidence of these claims such as credentials and certificates.
I have a flexible schedule with my core availability being:
• Mondays: All day
• Wednesdays & Thursdays: From 2:30 PM onwards (perfect for after-school runs!)
• Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays: Flexible afternoon/evening sitting
Character and childcare references from previous families in the US are readily available via WhatsApp or email upon request. I look forward to supporting your family’s routine and helping your child grow, learn, and thrive!
My Experience
I have a strong and proven record providing engaging childcare, academic support, and behavioral coaching for school-aged children. Over my years of babysitting and mentoring in the US, I have successfully worked with a diverse range of learning profiles, including children with ADHD and students facing significant academic or learning challenges.
My experience focuses heavily on:
• Neurodiverse & ADHD Support: I understand how to maintain focus, establish positive routines, and implement structured, patient guidance tailored to children with ADHD and other neurodivergent conditions.
• Overcoming Academic Barriers: I have a long history of helping students who are frustrated or falling behind with schoolwork. By identifying their unique learning style, I help them build confidence in subjects like history, reading, and science.
• Fostering a Positive Environment: Whether it’s working with younger children or older students, my goal is always to create a fun, safe, creative, and open environment. I believe that children thrive when they feel supported and heard, and I love using interactive games and creative play to make learning enjoyable.
