My Summary
About Me
Hi, I’m Tori!
I’m a friendly, caring and reliable qualified teacher with over 10 years of experience working with children and young people.
I am passionate about helping children feel happy, safe, confident and supported, whether that’s through learning, play or everyday routines.
Alongside my teaching career, I run my own tutoring business, TLC Performance, and am now looking to offer families a wider range of flexible childcare and educational support.
I offer:
* Private Tutoring: Personalised 1:1 learning support, including English, Maths, confidence building and additional learning needs.
* Home Education Support: Structured, engaging educational activities and individual learning programmes tailored to your child’s interests, abilities and needs.
* Mother’s Help / Parent’s Help: An extra pair of hands with childcare, activities, schoolwork, routines and light child-related household tasks.
* Babysitting: Reliable, caring childcare where children feel comfortable, entertained and safe.
I believe every child is unique and deserves to feel understood, encouraged and valued. I take a patient, positive and flexible approach, building relationships with children and families to understand what works best for them.
I am organised, approachable and happy to discuss individual family requirements, whether you need regular support or occasional help.
Based in Swindon and happy to consider opportunities in the surrounding areas.
My Experience
I have over 10 years of professional experience working with children, from babies and toddlers through to teenagers, across a variety of educational and childcare settings.
My background includes working in nurseries, providing nannying and childcare support, primary school teaching, alternative provision and senior school leadership.
I previously worked as an Assistant Principal in an alternative education setting, supporting children and young people with a wide range of educational, emotional, social and behavioural needs. This involved safeguarding responsibilities, working closely with families, supporting individual learning needs and helping children overcome barriers to education.
I currently work as a qualified primary teacher across Nursery to Year 6, including within a specialist resource provision for children with additional needs.
Alongside this, I run TLC Performance, my own tutoring business, providing personalised educational support to children and young people. I have experience adapting learning to suit individual abilities, interests and learning styles, including supporting children with SEND and SEMH needs.
My earlier childcare experience includes nursery work, nannying and managing crèche provision. These roles developed my confidence in supporting younger children through play, daily routines, activities and their early development.
I am confident working independently with children, managing routines, planning engaging activities and communicating positively with parents and carers.
Above all, I aim to create a calm, supportive and enjoyable environment where children feel safe, valued and able to thrive.
My Qualifications
I hold a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree in Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), specialising in the Early Years and Key Stage 1 age ranges (3–7 years).
I have over 10 years of experience in education, including classroom teaching, early years provision, special educational needs support, safeguarding and senior leadership.
My qualifications and professional background include:
* Bachelor of Education (BEd) Primary Education
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Enhanced DBS check
* Extensive safeguarding and child protection experience, including previous responsibilities as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)
* Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
* Experience working with children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
* Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification
* Kettlebell and Indoor Cycling Instructor qualifications
