About Me
Hello! My name is Megan and I would love to join your family. I grew up in Canada, went to university in the United States, and currently live in Roehampton. I am here on a YMS visa so I can work here. I love going for walks, reading, imaginative play, cooking, journaling, and crafts. I, of course, love young children and infants. I have 6 years of nanny experience with children ages newborn to 10, as well as experience in professional centres. I come from a big family (oldest of 6 children) so I thrive in a busy household with energetic children. However I can also maintain a calm and peaceful environment in a kind and sure manner. My goal long term is to work with babies with visual impairments but for now I would like to continue being a nanny here in the UK.
My Experience
I have been a nanny professionally for 6 years (last 4 years with the same family). I've mainly nannied for children age newborn to 5 years with a couple older children here and there. I've worked as a night nanny for a newborn where my responsibilites included sleep training, managing feedings, and general overnight care. I've worked as a live in and live out nanny with many families. I've also worked as a teacher in American schools teaching preschool, kindergarten, and year 2. I've worked in centres for children with challenging behaviour needs, and schools for children with visual impairements and other special needs. I've also volunteered with the local foster care agancy, as that is something I would like to do in the future as well. So I have experience with children of various ages and needs.
My Qualifications
I have my degree in Early Years Education and I'm nearly finished my masters degree in Special Education. I also have my First Aid/CPR certification (renewed earlier this year), my food handlers permit, and I can provide glowing references.
My Availability
I am available part time or full time until May of 2027. I may stay longer than May but I'm not sure yet. I would love to have a little bit of time to travel but my schedule can be very flexible. I'm also happy to do overnights. I am available more during the holidays and I don't plan to go home to America for Christmas so I'd love to find a family I can really feel a part of. I'm happy to do some weekends as well for the right family.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £17.00 per hour
- Nannying from £20.00 per hour (gross)
My nanny fee ranges from 17-23 depending on number of children, hours, needs, etc.
