My Experience

Before becoming a Social worker, I practised for many years as a Nursery Nurse in nursery settings, developing extensive knowledge of early childhood development, attachment, routines and emotional wellbeing. I have since gained approximately 20 years’ experience in children’s social care, specialising in child protection, safeguarding, risk assessment and direct work with children and families. I have supported children with autism and other additional needs and currently undertake supervised-contact work, carefully monitoring children’s safety and emotional wellbeing. I understand professional boundaries, confidentiality and how to respond calmly and appropriately if a child is anxious, distressed or unwell. I hold an enhanced DBS through my professional work and can provide references.

My Qualifications

hold an NNEB Nursery Nursing qualification and five GCSEs at grades A–C, including English. Before becoming a social worker, I worked for many years in nurseries, gaining extensive experience of early childhood development, attachment, communication, learning through play and children’s physical and emotional needs. I subsequently completed my BA in Social Work at Brunel University and have worked in children’s social care for approximately 20 years, specialising in child protection, safeguarding, risk assessment and direct work with children and families. I have managed and supported practitioners, worked with children with complex and additional needs.
