Grace
Babysitter in Chichester
About Me
Hi I’m Grace and I am a first year Uni student studying dance education and teaching. My future career I would love to become a primary school teacher as I have always had a passion with working with children. I am enthusiastic, caring, reliable and organised, with strong communication and teamwork skills.
My Experience
I have direct experience working as an After School Assistant at Banstead Preparatory School from January 2025 to July 2026. During this time, I worked with children aged 2 to 11 and was responsible for supervising children during after-school sessions, planning and delivering engaging age-appropriate activities, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, and supporting children's physical, emotional and social development. I followed safeguarding and health and safety procedures at all times and regularly communicated with staff, parents and carers.
A key part of my role involved creating activities that were both enjoyable and developmental for different age groups. For example, during the festive period I organised arts and crafts activities, including drawing and colouring for younger children, while older children created origami decorations and ornaments. These activities encouraged creativity, confidence and social interaction while ensuring all children remained engaged and included.
Alongside this role, I completed and passed the Safe Space Level 1 Awareness course, which enabled me to volunteer with Brownies and Guides. In this role, I support girls aged 7 to 14 in developing confidence, resilience and independence. I planned and delivered a variety of activities, including games, team challenges and practical life skills sessions, while building positive and trusted relationships with the girls and encouraging teamwork and personal growth.
I have also gained valuable experience supporting children through my mother's work. After she became a Lead Learning Support Assistant in a secondary school, I continued to help during after-school hours and school holidays by planning and delivering activities for children aged 1 to 15. This required creativity, adaptability and strong organisation to ensure activities were inclusive, engaging and suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities.
