About Me
I have lived in Bishop's Stortford for just over 30 years and before this in Islington, London.
I enjoy travelling and have visited the following countries:
Cyprus (since the age of 5 as I have family there) Crete (3 times) USA (4 times) Prague (twice) Canada (3 times) Italy (6 times) Hong Kong, Portugal, Spain, France (4 times) Madeira (6 times) and Brazil.
I also love reading, listening to music, going to the theatre, visiting places of interest and spending time with friends.
My Experience
I translated for a year 11 student in a local secondary school and within one school year, (working 10 hours per week) took a non-speaking Brazilian student to GCSE level in English Language and Literature, RE, Maths and Art and Entry level in Geography and Science. I am very pleased to say that this student passed all the exams.
I am also tutoring two other GCSE students ( one in school and the other being home educated) in English - Language and Literature and History.
For two years I assisted children from 3 to 7 years old with their lessons at two local Primary Schools. I have also worked at two Secondary Schools.
I have also worked with children who have special needs.
I have taken and passed a TEFL course and enjoy the whole process of teaching and seeing the development of the student.
Lessons can be conducted face to face, online or telephone.
I am also a qualified life coach.
