Roxana
Nanny in London (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
Available for weekend nannying, evening babysitting, ad hoc and part time positions
Dear Parents,
My name is Roxana, and I am a qualified professional nanny with almost two decades of experience caring for children from infancy through to school age within private families in London.
Childcare has been a significant part of my professional life, and over the years I have supported families through many different stages of their children’s development, from the newborn months, weaning and establishing routines to nursery and school transitions, homework and the increasing independence of older children.
Alongside my childcare career, I have trained as a trauma informed somatic counsellor and am now developing my private counselling practice. As I make this professional transition, I am continuing to work with families on a more flexible basis and am particularly interested in weekend nannying, evening babysitting, ad hoc care and suitable part time positions.
I am warm, patient and affectionate while also being confident in providing appropriate boundaries and consistency. I believe children thrive when they feel safe, respected and understood, and I aim to create an environment where they can be themselves while developing confidence, independence and consideration for others.
Having worked in London for many years, I have an excellent knowledge of local parks, museums, classes, playgroups, activities and child friendly venues. I enjoy getting children out of the house and exploring, as well as creating engaging days at home through reading, imaginative play, arts and crafts, music and age appropriate activities.
My experience includes newborn and infant care, all nursery duties, weaning and meal preparation, potty and toilet training, sleep and routine support, bathing and bedtime, age appropriate activity planning, homework and reading support, EYFS knowledge, school and nursery runs, proxy parenting and evening babysitting.
I value open communication, mutual respect and a warm professional relationship with the families I work with.
I would be very happy to hear from families looking for an experienced, dependable and nurturing nanny or babysitter for regular or occasional support.
My Experience
I have almost two decades of professional childcare experience, primarily working as a sole charge nanny with private families in the UK.
From January 2023 to the present, I have been working as a full time nanny for a family in North West London. I initially joined the family when their daughter was 7 months old and have supported her development from infancy through toddlerhood and beyond. A baby boy later joined the family, giving me further recent newborn and infant experience alongside caring for an older sibling. My role includes all aspects of day to day childcare, routines, activities, outings, meal preparation, nursery duties and supporting the children through their different developmental stages.
Between January 2021 and December 2022, I worked as a full time sole charge daily nanny for a 2 year old girl in West London. I was responsible for her daily routine, meals, activities, outings, developmental support and all nursery duties.
Between August 2020 and February 2021, I undertook a number of temporary and ad hoc nanny positions, caring both for previous nanny families and for new families requiring short term childcare support.
Between December 2018 and July 2020, I worked as a sole charge daily nanny for a little girl who was 1 year old when I began the position. Her baby brother joined us in January 2020, allowing me to support the family through the transition from one child to two and to provide care for both a toddler and a newborn. The position came to an end when their mother decided not to return to work.
Between September 2017 and November 2018, I worked as a sole charge daily nanny. The little girl was 2 years old when I started and her baby brother was born shortly afterwards. During this role I supported both children through important developmental stages, including potty training, weaning, establishing routines and age appropriate activities. The family later relocated outside London. We have remained in contact and I have since provided occasional weekend nannying and proxy parenting for them.
Between January 2013 and September 2017, I worked as a full time sole charge daily nanny for a family with two children. Their daughter was 11 months old when I started and her baby brother was born 15 months later. I cared for both children through infancy and the early childhood years and supported them through weaning, potty training, nursery and school transitions, activities, social development and daily routines. The role came to an end when the family’s childcare needs changed and they no longer required a full time nanny. We remain very close and are still in regular contact.
Between April 2010 and December 2012, I worked as a full time sole charge nanny for two boys who were 18 months and almost 4 years old when I started. During this role, I worked closely with the older child on daily speech exercises and activities to support his stammer, which developed my interest in child development, communication and psychology. I remain in touch with the family after their relocation to the United States.
Between September 2008 and August 2009, I worked as a live in nanny, with sole charge for three days and shared care with the mother for one day each week. The children were 8 months and 18 months old at the beginning of the role. I remained in contact with the family after leaving and later returned to support the mother following the birth of her third child by Caesarean section. The role ended when I relocated from Bournemouth to London.
Between November 2006 and August 2008, I worked as a live in nanny housekeeper for a family with three children aged 18 months, 5 and 7 years. The role initially began as an au pair plus position and developed into a full nanny housekeeper role with increasing responsibility, including periods of sole charge while the mother travelled.
Before beginning my professional nanny career, between 2003 and 2006, I volunteered at an orphanage in my hometown in Romania, supporting children with additional needs.
Throughout my nanny career I have also undertaken extensive evening babysitting, weekend nannying, proxy parenting and ad hoc childcare for both existing nanny families and families referred to me through employers and agencies.
My experience covers newborns, babies, toddlers, preschool and school age children, and includes sole charge care, sibling care, weaning, meal preparation, potty and toilet training, sleep and routine support, bathing and bedtime, age appropriate activity planning, school and nursery runs, homework and reading support, EYFS knowledge, proxy parenting and overnight care.

Roxana is a very loving and caring nanny. She is a real professional who supported my family through the big life changes of returning to work from my first maternity leave and welcoming our second baby a year later. Her many accomplishments include successfully weaning and potty training our toddler and helping with sleep training. We will miss her very much!

Roxana has been a reliable, calm and reassuring nanny - confidently taking care of our 2 children full time whilst we are at work. She has managed to strike up an impressive bond with them both which is so lovely to see as parents. They both adore her and it is her consistent approach that has ensured that they are well behaved and secure, enjoying exploring all that is on offer locally. Roxana has successfully helped us navigate many developmental milestones for both, including new nursery, new sibling arrival, potty training and behavioural concerns as well as weaning and sleep training. We will be sure to stay in touch with her after we move and I have no hesitation in recommending her.
