About Me
I am an Ofsted registered childminder and received an outstanding in my last inspection in January 2020 and in my previous inspection in March 2016. I offer a home from home environment where I provide loving, safe, professional and appropriate developmental care for your children. I live in a 3 bedroomed semi-detached home with a nice sized garden which is well equipped for the children. I love my job! I see the children who I look after as an extension of my own family and treat them each as individuals. We love animals and have 2 cats. I am able to drop off and collect from Round and Round the Garden Nursery, Teddies on a Rainbow, The Grange Infant School and New Haw Junior School. I provide holiday cover for older siblings.
From September 2023 I began working with Lauren Bryan, an Ofsted registered childminder. We work together from my home.
My Experience
I have been a registered childminder since January 2001 and have looked after a wide range of children from birth to 13 years old. I have looked after children from various cultural backgrounds and children who have specific needs including Downs Syndrome, partially sighted, ADHD, Coeliacs, FASD, diabetics, those with food allergies any many others. I have an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check, Public Liability Insurance, am a member of PACEY and am registered with the Data Protection Agency.
My Qualifications
I am continually learning. When I first registered as a childminder I completed Introduction to Childminding and Developing Childminding Practice, St Johns Ambulance 12 hour First Aid, Child Protection and Food Hygiene for Childminders. I have also since completed my level 3 qualification and Quality Improvement Award. In 2023 I gained Surrey County Council's "Eat Well Start Well" award for offering varied and healthy food at our setting. Every 3 years I update my first aid, food hygiene and safeguarding training. I have attended lots of workshops and seminars relating to childminding including, how to observe children, art craft and outdoor activities, Makaton, bullying, education through music, boys will be boys, Forest School and many others.
My Availability
I am registered to look after 3 children under the age of 5 of which only 1 may be under 12 months old and another 3 between the ages of 5 and 8 and I am on the voluntary register to look after children over 8 years old.

My Fees
- Childminding from £11.00 per hour
I charge an all inclusive hourly rate which includes all meals, snacks, trips out, wet wipes and treats and my hourly rate is variable depending on parents/carers situation and the needs of the child. Parents/carers provide nappies. I work from 07:30 until 18:00 Monday to Friday. I do not provide overnight or weekend care.

My children have been extremely happy at Ilana's for their after school childcare. Ilana provides a home from home environment where they can relax & have fun.
Ilana cooks lovely homemade meals & my children enjoy helping to choose the menu for the week. They also look forward to the healthy snacks in the snack bar after school.
The children have a good balance of child initiated play & an opportunity to do adult led activities for example sewing, cooking, card making.
Ilana is very flexible & accomodating & I would strongly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a reliable, dedicated chldminder.
Overall
My little boy has been going to Ilana's now for 3 years and he absolutely loves her to bits. I often turn up to collect him and he's had such fun, he doesn't want to come home!
Ilana has a fantastic relationship with my little boy to the point where she is 'his 'second Mum' and I am reassured when I go to work that he is safe, well fed, happy and having fun when he is in her care. It is evident that she truly loves her job which is reflected in the way she is with the children.
Ilana's great at taking the children out whether it be to the local park or farm, to the paddling pool, library or the pick your own for strawberry picking. Sometimes when she tells me of her plans for the children, I want to go out with her myself !
It's not all play, she teaches the children as well but in a fun way that they probably don't even realise that they are learning. They grow plants & vegetables each year, make arts & crafts as well as play, but every child is included and Ilana explains everything to the children in a way that they will understand and learn at the same time. She always includes the views and opinions of the children in making decisions within the house (or garden) that ultimately may affect them too.
I have always found Ilana very down to earth, flexible, fun loving and approachable and would not hesitate in recommending her to anybody wishing to find a childminder for their children.
