Hi all! My name is Ciara McEleney and I'm 29 years old.
I have 12 years experience working with children from newborn to 10 years old in a range of nannying and nursery positions.
I'm looking for a lovely family to work with part time & long term. Ideally, I would love to care for one or two children of a young age and work with the family until the children are older. Send me a message and we can take it from there! Thank you :)
My Experience
In 2010 I studied BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Children's care, Learning and Development at college. During this course I needed to complete a year in a primary school working with 3-5 and 5-8 year old's and then in my second year working with 0-1 and 1-2 year old's in a private nursery.
My auntie has been a foster carer for 20 years and for most of my life I have watched over her taking care of babies from newborn to around a year old. I couldn't wait to be given the responsibility at 18 to be my Aunts foster care support worker. To independently be able to look after the babies for several hours each time and sometimes overnight was the best first hand experience. My auntie would discuss their routine before she left and also go through and leave a note for me. I'd make their bottles, feed them, change their nappies, interact with the babies and attend to all of their needs.
I have previously worked in a pre-school for 2 years where I looked after and taught 8 key children at the setting, all of whom I had a close relationship with, this was important when settling in! They felt safe and were able to come to me if they had any problems or just needed comforting. Nannying is one of the most rewarding jobs, you will never have a dull moment and that's why I love it :) I absolutely adore working with children I think it's the best job in the world!

Ciara has been our son's nanny for 1.5 years since he was 3. We have been absolutely delighted with the level of engagement & natural charisma she exudes as a carer. Suffice to say she's one of the nicest people we've met & we do rate her as an extended member of our family - she will be missed!
