About Me
I am a fully qualified Montessori teacher and EAL (English as an Additional Language) tutor, so bring a structured educational approach when tutoring young children who I have worked with for over 30 years. In my last position, until July 2023 I supported 2 French children. By the time they returned to Paris they were 8 and 9. They came to London in August 2020 and knew no English so being a confident French speaker - (I hold a BA in French and Spanish and have a CELTA (Cert in English Language Teaching to Adults), I enabled them to participate fully in school life. My main role was to support them with homework, submit school assignments and assist and correct them with spoken English, reading and writing. This continued from Y1 up until the end of Y4. They returned to France after 3 years of being with me as confident English speakers, readers and writers and are currently studying at a bilingual school.
My Experience
I hold a BA in French and Spanish (University of Southampton), a Montessori Teaching Diploma (London Montessori Centre) and a Certificate of English Language Teaching (CELTA). I apply my Montessori skills when teaching children English and use my CELTA diploma. I have extensive knowledge of subjects covered from Early Years to Yr 4.
