About Me

I am a long term Chingford resident, mum to seven adult children and a proud new grandmother. As well as having a passion for caring for children, I enjoy being the owner of two friendly dogs and love the outdoors and competitive running.

I provide a relaxed and supportive space for children at my house conveniently located opposite Chingford Station, where they can spend time indoors or in the garden. I provide a range of breakfast and after school snack options but am also happy to serve any food your child brings with them.

I have looked after many children for a number of years each and provided continuity of care for them between school and ad hoc babysitting when needed

My Experience

I have been registered as a childminder since 1997 and have looked after children professionally from ages 6 months through to the end of primary school, including children with additional needs, as well as raising my own children. I was also a Cub Scout Leader for a number of years, leading regular sessions as well as residential trips and outdoor activities.

I keep up to date with all the essential childcare qualifications, including paediatric first aid and child safeguarding.

I am also a qualified accounting technician, a background which gives me the skills to ensure invoices and other childminding related administration are professional and prompt.

A Warm, Caring and Reliable Childminder

We couldn’t be happier with the care and support Karen has given our son. From the very first day he went to Karen’s, he received such a warm and welcoming reception, which helped him settle in quickly and comfortably with all the other children.

Our son has always been very happy and excited to go to Karen’s, which gives us such peace of mind as parents. Karen is incredibly caring, attentive and understanding, and she creates a lovely, happy environment where the children feel safe, valued and included.

She has also always been extremely quick to reply to any messages and has been wonderfully flexible whenever we’ve needed to make arrangements or changes. Her communication and willingness to accommodate us have made everything so much easier.

We are genuinely grateful to Karen for the care she provides and would wholeheartedly recommend her to any parent looking for a kind, reliable and nurturing childminder. She has been absolutely wonderful!
