About Me

Hi, I'm Heather, 31 years old. I live in Coggeshall. I have always loved working with and looking after children and I am very passionate about what I do.

I consider the following attributes to be really important when working with children and their families and I believe I possess them all:
* Hardworking and punctual
* Kind, caring and affectionate
* Trustworthy, loyal and honest
* Enthusiastic, positive and encouraging

When I'm not at work I like to spend time with my Fiancé, family and friends. I have a gorgeous dog who I adore and love to go on long walks with. I love the countryside and nature and enjoy being outside whether it be a walk in the woods and tree climbing or splashing my feet in the sea at the beach building sandcastles. I'm a girly girl and enjoy shopping, cinema, holidays, spa days ect. I also enjoy going to the gym and swimming.

My Experience

I have 15 years experience of working in the childcare sector. I am currently working as a nanny for two families (different days). The children are aged between six months and four years old.
Previous to this employment I was with my last family for almost 4 years, beginning my role caring for their first child who was a year old, four months later we were joined by her baby sister and I took sole charge care of them both right up until they started school.
Unfortunately (for me, exciting for her!) one of the children I nanny for is about to begin her new adventure to nursery to prepare her for starting school next year. So, I now have availability on a Monday and Tuesday (also potentially Fridays too. TBC) and am looking for a new family to become a part of.
I have also worked for a family who had twins of 3 months, this was a temporary position in which I worked along side their mum to get the babies into a good routine. I have experience of being within a busy household after I temporarily carried out a nanny role for a family who had three children of 8 weeks old, 14 months old and 6 years old so am used to being busy, organised and kept on my toes!
For six years I have helped a family after school on two days/three days a week picking their children up from nursery, school, clubs and activities and getting them home, dinner, bathed and into bed, I have done numerous long days with them over the school holidays and worked weekends and occasionally still help out with them, although my regular work with them has come to a natural end due to the current pandemic and their children not needing to be collected or dropped off anymore.
Within my nanny roles my duties include most typical nanny responsibilities: arranging fun and educational days out, trips to groups and classes, school drop off and pick up, play dates and activities within the home to promote all areas of children's development such as crafts, messy play, workbooks, outdoor play, baking etc. I prepare and cook all meals and snacks throughout the day for the children. I also keep on top of all the children's laundry including weekly bedding changes as well as keeping areas such as their bedrooms/play areas clean and tidy.
I have and still on occasion help a well known family to me out when they go on holidays by staying at their house for periods of time and looking after their three children, again, doing both morning and afternoon school runs and taking them to various clubs and after school activities they may attend.
Before I took on a nanny role I have spent the rest of my childcare experience working in nurseries. I worked hard and gained lots of experience and spent a number of years running a two to three room. I worked my way up a few promotions to senior room manager. After many years working with two to three year olds and preschool age I ran a room looking after one to two year olds which I loved! After gaining experience in this role I decided to leave nurseries for a new challenge.
I have had years of experience working with children with special needs from learning difficulties to speech and language to behavioural problems to autism.
