Hi my name is rachel i am a Ofsted registered childminder and have been graded Good by them, At this time I have limited spaces, I can provide the free 15 /30 hours for 9m 2,3&4 year olds, i live near the centre of Blaby in a terraced house with a large garden i use the front room as a quiet room for reading sleeping or relaxing time and the back room as a play room and have activities set up at my table and floor space for the children to play with the toys i love to take the children out, I love the work i do and the children i care for. We have lots of fun on outings and around the home, i have a wide variety of toys and activity's so the children can learn and develop through play, I normally take the children out each morning to different groups, soft play or parks and we spend most afternoons around the home unless we have other plans.
I live with my partner of 30 years and i have a son who is 14 years old we also have a small dog born June 2021 who loves children. I believe in a home from home environment where children can flourish. i think this is one of the most rewarding jobs i just love the feed back from the children.

20+ years childminding working with children age newborn 2 weeks to 12 years. plus my own son
My Qualifications
First aid, NVQ level 3 child care and development, EYFS, Makaton, Introduction to child minding, Child protection, Safeguarding, Equality and diversity, SEND code of practice, FGM training, Prevent duty training, The importance of early language, Food hygiene.
Both myself and partner have a full CRB

Space avaliable from July 2026 Monday Tuesdays Wednesday and Thursdays

Our son, Luca, has been with Rachel since December. Like anyone, I was worried about how he would be when I went back to work. He settled in so well. He's 20 months old now. He gets so excited when I turn on to Rachel's street in the mornings. He barges in the front door like it's his own house, chatting and going straight to the toys. He has a better social life than us - always out and about at softplay or groups. His eating, chatting and walking instantly improved after starting. He's cared for so well. Rachel goes above and beyond with occasions and crafting. Luca's happy and confident in himself and Rachel is his bestie! A real relaxed, home from home childminder. I had to put 5 stars for food because Luca steals Rachel's food all the time!

Rachel started to look after my son for me 4 years ago and he settled straight the way, he would always come home saying what fun they had :-) , I then became pregnant so had my maternity leave planed around the same time Rachel became pregnant so this worked out well for us both. When I decided I needed to go back to work I had no hesitation on who to call just praying she had the space for my baby and she did thank god as I wouldn't know what I would do without her she just treats the children like part of the family and works round my job as they keep changing my hours , my little boy is always happy to get to her house and at times tells me to go when I go to collect him. Anyway what more can I say but what a lovely lady who makes the children feel like they have 2 homes.
