About Me
Hi i'm Laura I live in Consett with my 3 children aged 22, 20 and 17 and our lovable dogs Jimmy, Nelly and Nena. I have been childminding since 2009.
My aim is to provide a high standard of care for children aged from birth to 8 years. I offer a safe homely environment where children can be themselves whilst learning new skills, gaining new experiences and most of all having lots of fun.
I also have a small holding with chickens, sheep and horses where the children learn about animal husbandry and the great out doors.
I attend many local toddler groups and drop in sessions, forest school (mini explorers) as well as using local soft play areas and parks on a regular basis.
I also arrange regular exciting trips further afield like to farms, the beach, museums etc
my last OFSTED inspection was 2024 and got a good in all areas on my report.
I offer funded places for 9 months to 4 year old's.
My Experience
As well as having 3 children of my own i have also helped out in local nurseries and schools. I also used to help run a successful toddler group.

Elklan communication friendly setting
DFE - EYPDP - enhancing speech, language and communication skills, and number sense in early years.
My Availability
I do not work weekends or bank holidays.
My Fees
- Childminding from £7.00 per hour
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
Competitive rates are available upon request and tailored to individual needs.
I can do odd days to cover school holidays, your regular childminders holidays/ sickness or maybe just to give Grandparents a break.
I offer places on
• The 2 year government funded play and learn scheme.
•Funded 9 month -2 year old 30 hours.
• Funded 15/ 30 hours for 3 and 4 year olds.
•Tax free child
• Childcare grant payment scheme (student finance)

My daughter has been attending Laura’s setting for the past year and a half. She loves going to Laura’s every day. While she is there, she completes a huge range of activities both inside and out. My daughter has came on leaps and bounds while she has been with Laura. It’s lovely to go to work knowing that your child is happy, cared for and educated. I would recommend Laura to anyone.
