About Me
I am an Ofsted registered childminder living in Hopton. I have been childminding since September 2009. As a childminder I provide a home from home environment for your child. The whole of the ground floor is used for childminding including a dedicated playroom.I provide a wide range of activities indoors and outside including water/sand/paint/musical instruments/puzzles/cooking/sensory play. We spend a lot of our day outside as I think this is very important for children's development and well being. We have a covered area outside so we go outside what ever the weather.
We go out regularly on outings which include the park/woods/beach and the library. We especially enjoy being out in nature.
Just like nurseries I follow the EYFS, providing activities and experiences to support your child's individual learning and development.
Latest Ofsted inspection April 2019 I was rated 'Outstanding"
Comments from the inspection report include "Children flourish in the childminder's care" "Children are exceptionally eager to learn"
We have two cats and a dog.
Government funded sessions available for 2,3 and 4 year olds.
I am less than 2 miles away from the James Paget Hospital so ideally situated for hospital staff.
I am available to collect/drop to Hopton Primary School.
My Experience
I have worked with children for many years including nannying and nurseries. Having been a childminder now for over 10 years most of the children have started with me when they were young babies and I have carried on providing care right through to school speaks for itself!
My Qualifications
August 2012 completed the Foundation degree in Early years.
I also have a level 4 qualification in early years. I have an up to date First Aid certificate and child protection.
I attend professional development courses throughout the year.
Training includes:
Hygge in the early years.
Loose parts play
Inclusion
Ecat -Every child a talker
Messy play
Food hygiene
Safeguarding lead professional
Speech/language and communication skills.
Behaviour management.

I can drop/collect from Hopton primary school but do not have any vacancies at the moment.

My Fees

Fees are inclusive of all meals/activities. (please provide own nappies)
Company voucher schemes are accepted as payment.
2,3 and 4 year old funding available please contact me for more details.

I can't praise dawn enough. She is a well known and highly respected member of her village. she has many many years experience and can often be seen walking her childminded children on school runs walking so nicely. she minded one of my children for a year, and he is suspected of being adhd and can be a handful. however in dawn's safe hands he was treated with respect and compassion. He flourished at dawn's and thought very highly of her. she is very calming and gentle, and has a magical way of persuading the children to cooperate. Her home is beautiful and very equipt with a beautiful range of toys and areas to keep children entertained and developing. 1000% recommend

Excellent childcare, Dawn is friendly and our children love being with her. Stimulating environment, caring and educational. Can't thank her enough for what she provides our family.
