About Me
I have worked in a child care environment for 17 years, where i have worked in a nursery then moved on to do nannying. I have looked after a various age range of children form birth- 11 years of age. I am CRB checked and can easily renew my ofsted register (my last employer did not require me to be) I have a NVQ 2 in childcare and am looking to renew my first aid.
For the past two years i have been working with children with special educational needs and find this role particularly rewarding. I have completed epilepsy training, autism and aspergers training aswell as working very closely with children and their parents to accomplish their needs and routines.
I have 2 children aged 13 and 9 both my son and daughter attend school full time and I would love to bring them in the school holidays when my partner is at work or they are not in holiday clubs. This is not very often.They are both very easy going kind and friendly and very flexible when it comes to fitting around other children.
My Experience
Buttercups Nursery - looking after children aged 2- 5 years, supervising with activities such as art and craft, it,trips to park and P.E
Teddies Nursery - looking after children aged 3 months - 4 years. Supervising with activities playing games, nappy changing, cooking, sleep times, meal times etc.
Nanny - I started looking after the boys when they were 4 and 6. They are now 10 and 12. I take them to school, pick them up, arrange play dates, doctors, dentist appts, take them to various activities. Cook dinners, washing ironing and cleaning.
Nanny - in this role i look after two boys ages 6 and 3. I take them to and from school and nursery, arrange playdates, take them and arrange various activities. cook nutritious meals. Both these children were SEN one had aspergers and the other autism although sometimes this could be challenging it was also a very rewarding job.
Nanny- In this role I look after a girl now 5 and a boy 8 (1 and 4 when started) I take the children to and from school/nursery and arrange play dates or take them to after school activities. I always cook healty food from scratch, do homework, washing, tidying bedrooms etc. One of the children I look after has Aspergers it is very rewarding and fulfilling position.
Orleans Primary - I have looked after a child with down syndrome, this was a very challenging roll and you had to think very fast in certain situations, to think of the child's needs and safety. This was a very rewarding job.
