My name is Amanda, and I’m a qualified, Ofsted-registered professional nanny based in Bristol. I’m self-employed and currently work part time. With over 25 years of experience working with children, I’ve had the pleasure of supporting families in a variety of settings — including schools, preschools, forest school, nurseries, and through my own childminding business 7 years ago. I’m fortunate to have built strong relationships with many families over the years, and I’d be delighted to share my references when we meet.
I’m married and have two grown-up sons, as well as a lovely little dog named Daisy. I live in St George, near the Hanham border. I’m a kind, caring, and creative person who loves working with children of all ages. I’m always happy to lend a helping hand and provide a loving, supportive environment where every child feels safe and valued.
Supporting and encouraging each child’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being is at the heart of everything I do. I enjoy storytelling, playing games, arts and crafts, and spending time outdoors — I love all that nature has to offer. Whatever your child’s interests, I’m always keen to join in, share their enthusiasm, and help them learn and grow through play.
I know how important it is for parents to feel completely at ease when they’re away from their little ones. I offer peace of mind by providing a caring, responsive environment where children feel safe and happy. You can head off to work knowing your child is in good hands with a nanny who has many years of experience.
My Experience
I have many years of experience working with children of all ages, as well as supporting individuals with a wide range of needs. Seven years ago, I ran my own successful childminding setting, and over the years I’ve worked in a variety of roles including support work, nurseries, schools, preschools, forest school, and community care. And of course, raising my two sons has been my proudest achievement of all!
As a nanny, I’ve had the pleasure of working with some wonderful families across Bristol and south glos. I currently provide care for three families on a regular basis, along with ad-hoc childcare. My role also includes light housekeeping tasks — I’m naturally tidy and always make sure the home and play areas are left clean and organised.
My Qualifications
*I am paediatric first aid trained- 2025
*I have a level 3 qualification in childcare.
* Level 2 qualification in child protection and safeguarding children 2025
*Qualification in food hygiene and food safety.
*Qualification Makaton level one
I have other certificates that are child related.
My Availability

Mandy has been caring for our 1 year old daughter for several months now and we can't recommend her highly enough. She is lovely with our child, and makes a massive effort to provide high quality care for her. She is also lovely to spend time with and helpful around the house. She provided us with all the necessary paperwork before starting and some brilliant recommendations.

Having never used a childminder before, we were both apprehensive and realised the importance of making the right decision for our child.
Mandy is friendly , personable and professional. Our daughter loves spending two days a week with her and is always happy to go there. She does lots of different activities and attends playgroups.
I would recommend Mandy to anyone as we think she's fantastic with our child.
